Two of the greatest things the US military has ever provided for its troops in one pic
1) Poncho liner
2) Colt m4

I know. I'm trying to justify my laziness. Stop with all your logic Prop
Honestly I have only shot once with a can...sub or super...so I think I want sub for HD based on pure speculation. Once I shot some more (with out ears) maybe I will find it wouldn't matter once I shoot my setup some. At the end of the day I'd shoot a sbr with a brake indoors if that's what I have in my hand to defend myself and family...
Oh and zombie naturally.

Yeah I understand. Now I think the subs and a can on that gun are some of the funniest things to shoot and play around with. Especialy if you have some steel to shoot at.
But I think you will quickly see that the increase in sound from the supers will not pose any threat to your hearing or function when fired inside. Yes it is still loud, but think nail gun loud instead of cannon concusion loud.
The difference between supers and subs is vast. One gives you a decently powerful rifle round whereas another is a small caliber heavy grained pistol caliber.
Out of my 9" barrel I'm getting a little above 2100fps with the 110gr Barnes. Meaning at 20yds my energy is 1022 ft-lbs.
220gr subs running 1000fps are only getting about 488 ft-lbs at the muzzle.

Would it be worth it if I remounted it on a 45 on the receiver?

While it is certainly possible to shoot suppressed supers indoors, you are underestimating the volume. I ran 2 mags of supers through a kill house (no ears) and it was distracting enough that I switched to subs for my subsequent runs.
As far as ballistics go, any energy over 400ft-lbs will devastate a human. We are squishy and easy to kill. If the MP5SD could get the job done for so many people for so many years, a suppressed 300blk can as well. Myself, I keep supers in my 9mm SBR but I can definitely understand someone electing to use subs. I'll prob use the Gorilla 205gr subs in my HB when it comes in

I too have ran wayy more mags than 2 of supers through mine under a sheet metal roofed building (while not entirely closed) and can say yes while loud it is not loud enough to justify limiting yourself to the energy of subs. Far far far quieter than shooting a pistol unsuppresed and that apparantly is good enough for 99% of the population and police officers to shoot a few times without being so distracted and deaf.
And many 40 and 9mm rounds will give 400 ft-lbs and are plenty enough to kill someone the stopping power of a rifle round is vastly more devastating. Personal experience of shooting pigs with supers versus subs. And my good friend in jp swat unit personal recounts of perps being shot with their glock 17s versus their 11.5" 556 platforms is enough for me to know that when at all possible I want the energy of a rifle if I can.
So a short barreled suppressed 556 or 300 blk offers all the advantages of the rifle caliber while still not being deafening or distracting as an unsupressed pistol.

And yeah if I was training in a shoot house I would probably run subs too because of them being quieter. But that's only because I don't gain any real advantage by running the supers. In real world there is no denying there is a major advantage to running the supers while having a small disadvantage of the loudness

Everyone does that any decent range, it's totally different in an entirely enclosed structure.

Yes, a projectile traveling 2800-3000fps will shred you more than a 9mm
Supers are objectively better, but subs will absolutely get the job done, especially with multiple hits in the same vicinity. Yes, you likely won't have permanent hearing loss with a suppressor, but supers indoors are definitely louder than a nailgun

I'll give you that but I still hold that many people have gotten it done with unsuprressed handguns and rifles and that objectively taking into account both terminal effects and noise that supers are the better choice.
Subs get the job done just like pistols calibers do. But that doesn't stop people from proffering to rely on a rifle caliber over pistol

The fight to be unique is getting a little out of hand

But I should stop argueing.
You already agreed to the point I was saying that supers are better. Sorry

I have a suppressed MPX in my bedroom (hallway from my room is tight and I need the shorter length) and a suppressed 5.56 SBR in my living room. They will all work. If you shoot a mag through an unsuppressed handgun, there will be some hearing damage though. Permanent or temp, depends on the person and a ton of other factors. Won't even know you hurt yourself until the adrenaline and auditory expulsion wear off.
I never stated that supers are inferior or anything,, I just wanted to point out that it's louder than you think and that subs are totally sufficient

MPX is back from its paint job from Sulzer. Turned out great. Won't be my last job from them. Only about a one week turn around.
