Yeah it doesn't group worth a shite either. I tried the .308 out of my H&R and also some .243 all of it has been garbage as far as rifle ammo.

There's actually nothing wrong with using a steel casing instead of brass. The military put the age old argument to rest back in the 60s/70s, before most of the ARFCOMers parents were even born. I used to have the link for the report saved, but have since lost it. Basically, in their extensive testing, the steel performed just as good, if not a little better in some of the test, than the brass cased variety. Ultimately, they ruled that steel cased 5.56 was fit for combat. The real issue today is not with the steel case. It's with the imported steel cased ammo, made cheaply and inconsistently. It's simply just shite ammo. Hornady used to, may still, have a steel cased offering. I would shoot that with no qualms, the import stuff I would never use. Had a buddy bring a case of steel cased Wolf out shooting a few weeks ago, nothing but issues with it. CP3 and Bap seent it too.

I use it in my AK for home defense. 123gr SST steel cased.

My statement was inclusive of that experience.

PSA dropped their price on 10 Pmags and 1000 rounds to $360 for Black Friday. Not as good as they had it but still better.

If you say $0.30/round then it's $6/ mag basically. Cheap as you'll find either anywhere.

That's a pretty good deal. Do they rape you on shipping?

I think I paid for shipping once and it was maybe $10-12. I usually buy the free shipping deals.

Yeah, I saw that today. After the other I ordered had already shown up. But not bad for ordering on Wednesday at 3pm and it being on my doorstep at noon on Thursday.

What "brand" the lower is matters very little. In fact, in the hierarchy of importance I would place the brand of the lower just above the brand of your end plate. Any forged aluminum lower will work. 98% of all forged lowers are machined by the same 5 OEMs. Just pick one that fits your price range and with a rollmark that fits your taste.

Well, personally I would not spend more than $100 on a stripped lower unless there was something special about it warranting a higher price, besides the name engraved on it.

SLR lite. They've got a few options, all very nice looking handguards.
