he finest AR-10 I've played with
Wow. I was certain that SCAR would be the easy decision. I am a DD fan boy for sure. It is also a bit cheaper too. I figured a AR10 and a good 2-10 could be fun.
Damn, this got more complicated. Not only does the SCAR cost more, but an ACOG aint exactly cheap.

I would go DD5 all the way. All the way

You can get an amazing AR10 for the same price as a SCAR. Also, they are less abusive on optics than a SCAR. I would listen to Carson and get the DD. Other good companies are KAC (stupid expensive), LaRue, Wilson, LMT, and now Noveske is coming out with the N6 which I am sure will be amazing.

I think I talked myself out of the scar. Reviews are great, but I would just cut it down as short as possible and then it would be a safe queen. I would actually use an AR 10, that's my story for right now.
Like I said, I am a DD fan boy and the reviews are great. Gonna do some more looking before deciding I guess.

I can get you one any time. $2759.99 (minimum that anyone can sell it for). We have one if you'd like to take a look. It's at our Natchez store so give me a week's notice and I can have it in BR.

Thanks a lot. I'll let you know. I need to get that mask 22 that I've been bothering everyone about first though. The DD will stay 16" so no rush.

Any ballers in here have a Larue OBR? Back when it came out there was a lot of hype but I haven't kept up in last 3 years.

How good is it really? There was a post awhen they came out on lightfighter.net that some got a .28 group. Reliability was suppose to be better than other .308 ARs at the time. How does it stack up in reality and in particular other .308 AR?

I got an Anderson BCG HP/MP on backorder. I paid $89 so I figured it was a decent deal. The only thing is the bolt isn't 158 steel. Would I just be better served getting a BCM for $169 or a PSA premium? That's pretty much the last part I'm waiting on and it's been on backorder for about 6 weeks now.

I really can't compare too well against other brands since there are lots of extremely reliable and nice AR's on the market. I'd think you can find lots of 99.9% reliable ones. However, fit, finish, and accuracy of the LaRue's is awesome. They are guaranteed sub-MOA and they send you test targets. Of course, once the LaRue test shooter gets a sub 1" group, he stops shooting. I have a factory 0.31" test target. I also have one at 0.8" but I can shoot that one under 0.5" or better with hand loads.
I also have some of the limited edition ones. These sell after-market for about $1,000 over what hey originally sold for. The guns hold their value extremely well and typically appreciate due to limited availability.
Then I had them all in a boat that flipped, and I lost all of them and my other guns as well.

Appreciate the info. Boats are kryptonite to firearms.

The trigger guard and magazine catch go on too easy. Now onto the bolt catch...
frick! What do I do now? That pin isn't coming out I tried to use needle nose pliers to no avail.

Okay so I got the bolt catch roll pin out of the receiver this morning when I was alot less frustrated...
I tried to reshape the pin but it still has alot of deformities. I can go to a LGS and pick one of these up right?
I wasn't really hitting it very hard. The lips just spread and my punch went down through it. I may be ordering the Knipex pliers.

Holy shite. Yeah definitely get a new pin, don't reuse that one.
LGS may have one, if not order one online

Casron, Bap, etc, I am starting to get get stuff together for my latest SBR. Its primary upper will be a 10.5" 5.56. It will also wear a 300blk and a 6.5/6.8 later down the road.
I do not want to pay for a mk18 upper, but want a mk18 upper.
What if I bought a cheap arse Radical Arms LINK and swap the barrel for a DD 10.3"? That should be a decent upper, for the cheapest possible way. I will either get a BCM or Spikes BCG. Also, it should be very lightweight with that cheap no frills rail. Opinions?

You could try and wait on this deal. I have no clue if it will come back or when though. Anyways, when it was in stock way back when, I sent it to Carson and he said this price is even below dealer cost. I would at least call and see if they offer it.

Thanks. I saw that last night while looking around. I figured that it was priced that low to get attention to their site while sold out. Soon as they get some in stock, it will go back up to $1,100. Again, just a theory.
Did you see it for that price and in stock?

Yup. When I sent it to Carson and Bap a couple of months ago, they had like 40 in stock and shipping.
