I got to shoot my 6.8 build yesterday. Once I got it on paper I got it dialed in quickly and was it was grouping a little more than a quarter at 100yds.
Pretty pleased with it to say the least. I have one more lower to build now and need to decide if I want a 6.8 battle rifle or a 300 AAC

Nope. Louisiana and their stupid gotta wait a year if you have minor kids if we can't reconcile don't know yet what her plans are.

I want to build an SKS from the ground up. Can someone point me in the right direction? This would be my first build. I want something that I can pig hunt with but also deer hunt. Also, would like to be able to bring it to the range. Not looking to shoot it long range just a mid range all around rifle.

Not sure about an SKS but building an AR is a snap. If you want a good SKS aim has them for $280

Why SKS? I'd go with M1 Garand if I was going that route.

The m1 is a good idea. I just like the look of the SKS. Can't really make the m1 too tactic-cool. Haha

So I gave my first ar upper a makeover today. Bought the rifle ~10 years ago. The Lower it came on was repurposed a while back and this one was just sitting in the safe with a few spare lowers so I decided to build one out and make this a dedicated predator gun. Swapped to a BCM Kmr rail and added a vortex 4-16. Also did my first rattle can job on a gun.

Hey guys. Looking to build my first AR. I have my own rifles and such but not my own AR and I have never built one myself. For the first build I would like to maybe do a budget build. I don't want to break the bank on my first one. What are some sites I should check out and what are some dos and donts. Also, which part requires to get it mailed for the FFL, I'm assuming the lower needs to be sent to a gun dealer?
