The only major negative of the P30 over the 17 is price. It's 300-400 more than the glock 17. I don't think it's worth 300-400 more, but damn that thing feels great in your hand.

I have v3 for both p30L, p30 and a p2000. I have a LEM kit for the p30 I haven't installed but maybe later. I like the v3 although admittedly I don't have a ton of time with a LEM.
I have never had an issue with the slide release on both sides. One thing to note, the slide release on the p30s (external safety) is shorter than on the non safety variants. I prefer the non-safety, longer release but some people will put the shorter ones on after the fact.
