Down current from the bridge in Manchac, my dad, my bro, and i were fishing and anchored out there. Well when we went to pull the anchor up it was caught on something but if we all pulled we would slowly make progress. Well we pulled forever it seemed and when we finally get it to the boat the anchor is hooked on another rope. So we worked so hard and were curious so we pulled that rope and it didnt take us no time. It was a short rope with a big rock..well boulder atached at one end and the other end of the rope was atatched to a coffin shaped box... No joke..but before we could really look at it good it slipped off, and fell back to the bottom..only thing we could think was someone through something off the bridge that threy didn't want anyone to see.

Snapper fishing out of Grand Chenier I caught my uncle's fishing pole with snapper still on it that he had dropped in the water an hour before from his boat. We were fishing the same rig and I reeled in the string. When I tried to take it off the hook it felt like it had something on it, so I pulled both ends up. We called the other boat and said you'll never believe what happened and explained the story. He then called what kind of rod and reel it was and said he had dropped it in the water about an hour ago.

In False River a couple summers ago I hooked an unopened 1970's era Budweiser can. I had somehow managed to snag corner of the tab, the can was in near perfect condition and i still have it somewhere, going to crack that one open before the apocalypse next year

shite, you'd probably think there was a fricking beer factory under my camp. I've donated dozens upon dozens to False River over the years.

Technically non-living...I have the uncanny ability to reel in speckled trout heads sans body.

Thanks, porpoises. Cute little frickers, but they can sure be annoying.

When I was a kid my mom hooked a dead dog. Not sure were exactly we were fishing but my grandparents had a camp in Chack Bay (sp) so I'm sure it was close to there

My brother and I were night fishing and we came to a boat ramp. I love to fish a crankbait or spinner bait on the ramps at night. I threw my spinner bait on the ramp and slowly started working it to the boat when it hit. I pulled and it would pull back but it was coming to the boat, felt like a good one. I told my brother to get the net! As it got closer to the boat I saw it's "head" come out of the water.

It was a motor toter.......

Fishing the tressles my bro in law lost one of his poles overboard. Fish quit biting so we moved along stopping and fishing at many different random spots along the tressels. Few hours later we were heading back in stopping and fishing at a few spots when all of a sudden he catches his rod n reel he lost overboard earlier in the day.

I reeled in a folding lawn chair. At first, I thought it was just some junk off the bottom, but the fricker unfolded while I was reeling it up. I tripped out at that point. Didn't know what the hell I'd hooked. When something is halfway up off the bottom and suddely starts pulling three times harder than when you hooked it, you tend to notice.
