I know several people who kill 150"+ plus every year. It's still in LA.

Now that I get to think about it. North LA definitely doesn't have superior duck hunting. The fields of SW LA are great. The Atchafalya delta and the wax offer virtually every species that migrates to LA. Venice is loaded with pintails on normal years.

I'm not.
For me it is so much better.. I've lived in BR for 8yrs total and worked all over every crack and cranny of south la... I'm qualified to say.
I love south la but I'm born and raised in nrth la... That's home to me.
But your boy hammer time made some ridiculous untrue statements, that I just felt the need to clear up.

Got it?

If you ever hunt in flooded hardwood timber, you will come back and edit that post and say "I was wrong. NELA is as good as it gets for duck hunting"

Yeah right.

I grew up in Leesville hunting different leases in Klondike, Welsh, Gueydan, Johnson Bayou, etc. and the hunting is great. But then I moved to Shreveport and started hunting around NELA and it is far Superior. SWLA has better specklebelly hunting, but ducks, hands down NELA/SEAR. There's just more birds... like 10 times more birds it seems. Not to mention duck hunting in general is worse now than it was in the late 90's when I hunted SWLA.

Just my $.02...

In north la we don't claim coots, scaups, mergansers and whatever other kind of local fish duck you may happen to shoot.

I mean it had to be said.

I ain't saying its no good, but I don't think it's undeniably better. Then again, I've never duck hunted in N LA. But from my experiences down south, there's plenty of ducks to be had.

North LA > south LA for hunting all around. And it's not really that close. The swamp is awesome dont get me wrong, but that doesn't make the hunting better.

I got a deal for ya...............

You , hammertime, and the likes can stay South and those of us from where the birds fly up-side down will stay on our turf. I posted in another thread about SLA. hunters coming up North:

quote:

I grew up in Nawf LA. where the sportsman from down South would come for doe days. You would'nt believe some of the stupid shite that went down during those doe days. "Sound shots" is one of the terms that I learned from a visitor. A sound shot is when you hear something in the bush and fire at the sound.

The above statement is not an attack on cajuns/coonass folks. I found it was more of an issue of big city/neighborhood guys that would travel up to the wilderness of NELA to "kill" some meat. They never said they wanted to hunt. It was always "We came up here to kill some meat" and I guess taking some sound shots is what they thought it took.

BTW, the birds fly up-side down because the Lord Almighty gave them enough brains to not crap on something so beautiful.

I will concede that NELA is better than NWLA. Been here all my life but Shreveport is the largest city I know of that has absolutely NO culture whatsoever.

most of N LA is too far to drive anyway. Not to mention its too far from the coast.

See the name
