There are several GMUs in Coloardo that are OTC in the second and third rifle season. They also have OTC archery units.

If you want a higher success, guided. If you want the "full" experience DIY on public land. There is tons and tons of public land in the west that holds elk. Finding an elk however, is a different story.

This is my fourth year after re-starting going elk hunting in Colorado. I grew up outside of Denver and was around elk hunting all my youth. It is an amazing way to experience the west and hunting.
