I'm want to buy my soon to be born Godson a nice shotgun and I need advice.

I want it to be special; something he can pass down to his children, but not too nice to where it can't be hunted with here and there.

Thoughts?

He would honestly probably appreciate a set of plastic keys more.

I'm thinking under $2500. Obviously I wouldn't mind spending less, but I want it to be "above average"; ie not a Mossberg Pump you would take out duck hunting and drop in the mud.

A nice 12 gauge o/u, perhaps a Beretta. Any pump or semi auto is not going to be a heirloom to pass down...

I have something, new, if interested. Can I send you an email?

Been hunting my whole life...have a nice shotgun to sell at a very reasonable price.

You guys are funny...

Get him something nice like a benelli, A5, or beretta. They make some really nice wing shooting models with nice inlay, or you can get a standard composite one for an everyday hunter.

I didn't know he had a $2500 budget.

Side note: I went into the Beretta store today in Highland Park Village.

Holy gungasm. They had $100k shotguns just sitting out, nbd.

Damn that's a beautiful gun.

I've always shot A5 Belgium's. There's a NIB 1966 A5 Belgium for $2200 on gunbroker.com

It's not "heirloom" quality, but a damn fine gun.

LINK

I have a few o/u's but I never seem to bring them with me to the camp as I like the practicality of a semi-auto.

Thanks for the input... Keep it coming.
