I've bow hunted on and off for several years. I'm looking to hit it hard next season. Which bows should I shoot and take a look at? I'm thinking mid-range to upper level

Archery Talk classifieds for any of the Halons. The originals should be pretty cheap now, and the current bows use the same cam system. I think.

Loaded Halons can be had for $600. I was looking at them on the Mathews Bows facebook groups the other day. I already shoot a Halon 6, but those prices made me want to pick up another.

Look at maybe like a Hoyt that is a few years old but still new. Good price for a great bow. Whole family shoots Hoyt and we all love them.

Try to hit some bow shops with good inventories of used and new so you can shoot them. Finding what fits you best is most important. Personally, I prefer elite.

Also check with mountain archery

They have a bunch on sale right now too. I've used them for arrows and accessories and they have excellent customer service.

Plus, check what everybody else said too

This is what I just did. Had a Halon 32 come in the mail today. A two year old bow that is literally less than half the price of a new bow and has the same cross centric cams the new ones are using.

I was in a similar situatuon to the OP. Had an ole Diamond that was 12-13 years old that I hunted with a good bit 5-10 years ago then didn’t bow hunt for a number of years. Got the itch this year but told myself I was going to make myself bow hunt for a year before I dropped the money for a new bow. Looking to make some sort of western bow hunt next year on top of white tails around here.

I'm in the same boat, have this old PSE I picked up a few years ago and said I'd upgrade when I proved that I would use it a lot. Nows that time... I dont know anything about bows though, been looking at archery talk and a pretty wide range of pricing. My budget is probably $500-600 max

I'd rather not spend 1500 on a rig until I'm all in. If it's a good deal and I like the bow I'll buy it though
