Who is selling for $8500 off MSRP? I’ve seen $1000 off 2022’s. I would love to buy a 2022 F-150 for $8,500 off.
If you can travel, local Ford dealer has some at $10K off.

You’ll be happy to know that’s actually the same GM/Ford 10 speed with the Allison name thrown on it by the marketing dept.
The ten speed Allison in a 3/4 ton gmc is the same as the ten speed in an f150 or 1500? I understand it’s not an Allison designed transmission but I don’t think this is the case.

It is not the same as the 1500 ten speed but it is not an Allison. It is a GM transmission with Allison branding only. How that is legal I am not sure. Someone needs to sue them. Full disclosure I fricking hate GM now.
They started this in 2020.

From what I understand, GM designed the transmission and the design was tested, accepted, and branded by Allison. Regardless of what’s on it, I don’t know anyone personally who has had problems with the Allison ten speed that they released in 2020. With the ford/GM 1/2 ton ten speed, I know plenty.
I don’t know enough about this stuff to die on a hill over any idea I have. So if someone knows more about it, please share. The 6l90 they use now is a tank, so I could be convinced to go get a ‘23 before they swap.

DownshiftFI is my go to for all things motors and transmissions. He doesn't post much anymore though.

I understand the hate for GM. I had a 2000 Silverado I got rid of with 240k and I have. 2011 with 220k now. I absolutely will not buy a GM half ton or recommend anyone buy one newer than 2013. I haven’t seen the same frequency of failures or problems in their 3/4 tons in my friend groups. I’m not a mechanic so my opinions are just baw science from talking to friends and family and reading on the internet

I have a ‘22 Tundra Platinum with the rear airbags.
A month or so ago, my son’s Sequoia had the alternator go out. My FIL had someone that could replace it so I got a 20+ ft car trailer and loaded it up and towed it 2hrs to his place. Pulled it with the Tundra.
Had no issues pulling it at all and got 13.4mpg pulling it.
I was very impressed with that gas mileage.

Cheapest f150 even with 10k off is still $53k.
They must own fireworks stands as well.

I was a GM only guy since I could drive. My 16 Sierra has $11k in fixes with a little over 100k miles. The biggest thing is how GM completely fricked over customers on handling these. The torque converters, temp control for the transmission fluid and the lifters are all documented admitted failures by GM. They have TSBs for all three and redesigned the needed parts. Pound sand on getting any cost break though. I hope they get their arse handed to them in the class actions. The bow tie can burn in hell.

They were designed as a joint venture and the heavy duty and light duty transmissions are just different versions of the same design with the HD versions being beefed up for extra power.
There are differences between the Ford and GM versions but they are mostly minor details.
I have owned quite a few of these with no issues from any version.
