Im in the market for a 25hp Tractor with a loader

Kubota and Massey Ferguson both have 0% and 0 Down financing right now

Any opinions between a Kubota LX2610SU and Massey MF1825E (I don’t have a preference between shuttle or Hydrostatic)

Kubota offers a 7 year warranty and an Insurance that covers Loss or Damage of all kinds.

Massey Ferguson offers a 10 year warranty

Both with a box and finishing mower are priced roughly the same but I was having them quoted with a trailer. How much are they marking up these trailers to add to the Package Deal? Should I just buy my own trailer first then finance the tractor and implements?

Any and all suggestions are appreciated!

Congratulations on your decision to buy a tractor.

25hp is small, especially when you put a FIL in it. Just my two cents. Kubota will have more fit and finish but both brands are awesome. There’s an entire subculture around the B and BX series Kubota’s, and aftermarket implements and add ons will be easier to find.

As far as the price on the trailer, call a few trailer shops and get quotes to compare. I’m guessing they’re probably selling the trailer fairly cheap.

I've heard of people getting 3rd party insurance instead of ktac. If you finance with kubota, I believe they require you to insure it. Either through them or a 3rd party.

I have ktac and it's about $1k a year for an MX with a cab.

To get the best price on a kubota, use the equine discount. There are certain horse organizations you can join to get 20% off msrp. They are free to join.

The equine discount doesn't work with the 0% financing offer. You'll either need to pay cash or come in with outside financing. If financing, you'll have to do the math to see what's cheaper in your situation, kubota 0% with a higher sale price or the equine discount with outside financing.

I saved roughly 4k with the equine discount over the best price I got calling around.

Beware of the trailers they sell in packages, they are often cheaply made. You're likely to be better off getting a trailer somewhere else. It'll probably cost more, though.

I went into my purchase intending to buy a Kubota standard series with a few attachments and a trailer. After I looked at all the bells and whistles on the Grand L series (which also has an upgraded front end loader), I ditched the trailer for the upgrade to the Grand L. They delivered it for no charge and also pick up/deliver for a reasonable fee when I need service. So glad I upgraded to the grand L - its comfort features are especially great for my bad back. Only regret is trading in my Grand Sport Vette for an F-150 beforehand since I “needed something to tow my tractor” that I have never towed.

Absolutely LOVE my Kubota (3560) and also love Kubota’s insurance. I financed 0% but was going to pay cash for some of the implements - salesman talked me into financing them as well because it would insure them as well.

This is what I’m afraid of. The Kubota was going to come with a Buck Dandy 20ft 10k. I know Buck Dandy is a decent made trailer. The MF was with some odd brand

My Kubota is a 38hp and no way would u buy smaller. The 38hp is limited when I’m using the loader or dragging the box. It’s plenty for how little I use it but when I do I wouldn’t want to have a 25hp.

I will say I love my Kubota and it’s great to have around. I bought mine at Lemanns in Donaldsonville, they’ve been great to deal with. I have no idea is Massy Ferguson is good or not?

That’s who I’ve been talking with about the Kubota. I’m going to look at some a little bigger

Those are pretty nice for package trailers. Dad bought from there and got the Buck Dandy for his Kubota. I bought one of their utility trailers and it's really nice. I would not be afraid of one of those.

Own one of these. Very well built with great bracing. Would buy again.

I'd consider where you can get attachments for tractors and availability. Inventory is ugly out there.

Congratulations on your new Kubota!

My family has the Massey Dealership in Livingston that I assume you must have visited. Sorry to hear that you didn’t buy a Massey from us but you couldn’t go wrong either way. They are both great tractors. Just wanted to add that Massey does also have insurance that is very reasonable and can be applied to your implements.

Once again, congrats on your new toy. If you ever need any more implements come see us, we have very good prices.

Hi, my family runs a local Massey Ferguson dealership in Livingston Louisiana. We offer some really good deals and the warranty is hard to beat on a Massey Ferguson. On our package deals we only are making profit on the tractor and maybe a couple hundred bucks on the implements if that. We don’t make anything on the trailer.

Our personal tractor we bought new in 2016 before we had the Massey dealership is a 47 hp kubota and it’s been reliable, but it’s not nearly as strong as the Massey Ferguson’s we have in the same size range. I also prefer the power steering on the Massey Ferguson. I know a friend who just bought a brand new kubota 25 hp and posted a video of it the first day and it had fluid dripping everywhere after the first use. It could just be an exception, or bad luck.

I think you can’t go wrong either way, but I’d love for you to come check us out at Hill’s Equipment. It’s a family owned business that my grandpa, who is 89, started and still works at. We have implements and zero turn mowers as well.

This comes across different than I expect you intended. Don't sell by talking about the other guy's problems. Sell by talking about what yours does better, like you did earlier about it being stronger.

There's a lot of anecdotal evidence that Massey's heaver version of similar sized equipment is indeed stronger. I haven't driven or worked with a new Massey but the new Kubota's I've been on have all been very nice with smoother hydraulics than comparably sized machines.

Focus on what you can do, not what the other guys do poorly or do wrong.

I agree with the other poster. Sell your equipment based on its merits not putting down the competition. That’s a turn off to me when I’m shopping for something if the salesman goes down that road. I have a Kubota tractor that has given me 10 yrs of trouble free service. Just my .02

It wasn’t intended to down the other. As stated, our personal tractor we’ve used for years on our hunting property is a kubota. It’s been reliable as can be, but isn’t as strong as the masseys we have. We have some newer used kubota on the yard too. So I’m not saying they are bad tractors. I have my preferences, but I’m not brand loyal. I want people to research and drive them and be happy with what they get!

There’s always a lemon in everything, or as stated exceptions. I drive a duramax that I’ve been hell on and haven’t had a problem out of, but I know people who baby there’s and had the cp4 failure and plenty issues. Sorry if my post came across as bashing anything. That wasn’t how I intended it to!
