Has anyone seen or heard anything about the new Pro-Drive?

I thinks its a 50HP Tohatsu Outboard, but would still need a way to be water cooled. Maybe some kind of internal keel cool.

Here is a few screen shots I took of KP's video.

I know nothing about them, but I did see their posts this weekend on Instagram. Should be very interesting if they can get it to be reliable.

Im sure I cant afford one though lol

Pretty sure it's a closed-loop water cooled engine

I saw them at workboat show this past fall. Looks to be a 50 tohatsu with an onboard day tank for cooling. If the block stays cool it should roll and have way more reliability than the hopped up
Lawn mower engines these companies have been using

Does it fall under the air cooled status per regulations?

I'm sure the regulations will be changed to include something to the effect of "all surface piercing prop motors."

If there selling 40hp mower engine at 8k. He gonna want 18k just for that. I don't remember what they are new, it's been years sense I had mine are priced any. But they were always over priced mower engine just like Gt and the rest.

Does anyone know what the torque is on that 50?

The reason most other engines dont work well on surface drives is they dont make enough torque on the low end.

Also why just do a 50 and not go up to a 70 or 90 from the start?

I was thinking the same thing. If it does work out, why not have bigger options. Maybe its in the works, who knows.

Could be lack of props.

The eco techs couldn't work out gearing and props.

It gets expensive getting custom props built for testing.

I attended this DUX event (specifically to see this motor) and spoke to them in a fair amt of detail about the motor, cooling system and a few other inquiries I had. Have photos and video but not sure how to share here. I will say the cooling system is innovative and the motor is very quiet. This may indeed be the beginning of the end of mud motors as we know them. Did not discuss price, but frankly that didnt matter to me as I am already sold on these.

Heard is was $15k. I can buy alot of earplugs for the 7k I could save by going with the lawnmower engine.

It needs to be. There is no sense in being able to make that much noise.

There is a company called Freedom Outboards that tried the closed loop cooling, looks like they stopped making them but this is the website
