Need new brake pads and rotors recommendations/help

Just hit 100k miles on my 09 Sierra and looks like I need to replace the brake pads and rotors. I dont do much towing besides the occasional fishing trip in the 18' bass boat.
I have front disc and rear drum so I only need a set of 2. Any suggestions on aftermarket brands, or should I go with the OEM replacements? I plan on doing them myself. TIA

I think all the rotors are made in China now. huge selection of pads/rotors at Rockauto.com

Recently changed my front rotors and front pads on my 13 F150. Bought the replacements from AutoZone and the Gold ceramic pads. Installation was a breeze and took me maybe 3 hrs by myself with minimal tools needed. I've towed a few things and haven't noticed any changes from stock. Think it was around $300 for rotors and pads

Buy either OEM replacements online, or get NAPA stuff. You did get 100k out of your first set

Would these be overkill?
While I have everything apart I don't mind spending a little extra for better than the stock parts.

Do a google search on Power Stop rotors. Mixed set of reviews. I know b/c I was going to get them from Rockauto.

Rotors from Rockauto.com.
Pads from Autozone. A lot of people do not know this but if you get the pads with the lifetime warranty (Durolast Gold) then you will never need to pay for pads again. When they get wore down again from normal wear, they replace them for free when you bring the old ones in.

I have used better pads and new SS lines on my past three trucks. Haven't noticed a difference in braking except on one of them. The Hawk pads I have on my truck now have squealed since day once, and continue to do so 33k later

Baer Decela rotors with EPC GreenStuff pads on the front. Do a disc brake conversion on the back.

If I do this I'd assume I'd have to get calipers also?

I have always heard that the lifetime pads are hard as hell and will actually wear down your rotor.

Nothing wrong with stock rotors but definitely upgrade the pads. I just put a set of Power Stop on all 4 corners. Been very pleased thus far; solid steady breaking power and most importantly, absolutely no squealing or any sound at all. I followed the break-in SOP to the letter.
Power Stop K2068 Z23 Evolution Front/Rear Carbon Fiber/Ceramic Brake Pads and Cross Drilled/Slotted Rotors.

This. Certified GM mechanic told me the same thing.

Ordered the power stop front brake pad and rotors. Will report back after install.

Hammer makes a very good point about your OEM pads. Let me add that "most" aftermarket pads generate a lot more brake dust. Saving a few bucks may not necessarily be worth it.

Most do, especially if you go with a semi-metallic pad. I bought the C-max pads from AZ and have had great luck with them compared to Wagner or other pads I've used previously. I've seen less dust and minimal rotor wear compared to brands I've used in the past.

Which powerstop kit did you buy?

I like the EBC sport rotors and EBC Green pads.
Had them on my Tacoma and they were legit.

Oh yeah, with factory pads and factory rotors, my 2500hd's rotors were barely worn at 100k. I just had them turned and put them back on

Mine have 250k miles of towing heavy on them and still have a ways to go
Those brakes are incredible.
