Was probably going to go through silencer shop since they seem to be the smoothest process. Looking for something in 9mm for my PCC but can also put on my Glock.

Anybody have any experience with the suppressors that can expand or contract their length? Also how effective a 9mm suppressor is on a 22LR rifle? Would be great to be able to use this on my 10/22 and my 300BO builds in addition to all of my 9mm stuff.

I use an Octane 45k for my 9mm, but sounds like not what you are looking for so I'm no help there.

I would advise using any suppressors not designed for a 22 on a 22. You must clean these suppressors regularly because the 22 is so dirty. Plus the size and weight will be a lot on a 22. Invest in a deadair mask or a similar 22 specific easy to clean suppressor. They are amazing.

The octanes are hard to beat. I wish I would have went with the K model though because of the length. Sounds like you are looking for something modular. The 36M is a pretty versatile can.

Also, as said above get a dedicated can for 22. The other cans are big and heavy compared to the 22 cans. You can pick up a good 22 can for pretty cheap.

Was in a similar boat.
Just placed an order for a 22 (DA Mask), and a 9mm (Obsidian 9) can. Went thru Silencer Shop via Bowie. Was pleased with the process.
Now the wait.

I feel like people who don't own a 22 can fail to realize how small they are. I just tell them to imagine a robusto cigar. MY little 10/22 SBR with the mask is so much fun...

I actually do the opposite. I rarely clean any rimfire suppressors with anything other than light compressed air. All of my rimfire suppressors are built into the barrel and not removable. I totally agree that if it isnt built for a 22 lr then do not use it on a 22 lr.

9MM can - I have & reccommend Dead Air Wolfman for pistol, PCC or 300 BLK.

Dead Air Mask is legit AF.... .22 can should be dedicated and your first can IMO....you WILL need to clean it and the lead/powder residue is like F'ing concrete after 1k rds. Rock tumbler w/ steel pin media is best and gets baffles like new in 24 hrs. This is why it's essential to pick a can w/ steel baffles (e.g. Mask)

I have a Dead Air Ghost M. It's a .45 caliber but it's somewhat modular, meaning it has a long and short configuration.

Pros:
Love the balance of it. Most of the weight it on the gun end as the front baffles (in the long setup) are aluminum.

Cons:
the adapters are expensive as hell.

I'd consider Rugged Obsidian 9 as well.

The DA Wolfman is legit. I love it for my PCCs.

But, it’s diameter is a bit too big for a pistol. I have a FN509 Tactical that has suppressor height sights, and they are covered up with the Wolfman attached.

+1 for the wolfman being great on my PCC’s, yet a little big for pistols.

OP, look into the CGS mod-9 if you’re only planning on shooting 300blk subs.

I’ve been waiting since Sept for my .22 suppressor bought through silencer central. So whatever you choose, don’t plan on having it anytime soon.

Rugged Obsidian 9 is what I chose and works very well with 22LR. However, you will be much happier with a dedicated 22 can if for no other reason than weight.
