Nebraska non resident public land

A guy I know used to go up there almost every year public land hunting. Albeit this was 20+ years ago but he said, like you stated, the WMA’s were tiny and access was kind of hard to find so eventually he said they would knock on the door of people with property adjoining it, introduce themselves, tell what they were there for, and ask if they minded using their road/turn row/pasture or whatever to get to where they wanted to go in the WMA after checking in or whatever the process was. He said most everyone was more than accommodating and every once in awhile someone would invite them for coffee and even offer their property up for them to hunt. It’s probably different now that hunting as gotten to be a bigger business than it was back then but it’s worth a shot

Another thing he always said he would do is go to the coffee shops and just strike up conversations, offer to buy their meal, ask questions, and show people on the map where you’re wanting to go and see if they offer up advice on how to get there.

In Montana we had our best luck meeting farmers in diners or coffee shops. They hated the deer and invited us to go kill deer in their fields.
