Anyone watch muthbusters last night? They revisited the bloodhound myths and put the scent killers to the test. One of the guys showered with the scent killer soap, used the deoderant and cloths detergent, then sprayed down to the point of being wet. After a 5 minute head start the bloodhound went straight to him without hesitation. Ever notice how on the hunting shows they always pimp their no scent sponsers but always hunt the wind. You can't eliminate human odor. In fact one well known maker of appearal just lost a lawsuit claiming false advertising.

Personally, I use the scent-free detergents mainly because I know using flower scented Tide would be even worse.

I use them also, but it's out of superstition and false belief. I dont think they hurt and may reduce the amount of scent but the wind will bust you no matter what steps you take.

Along with my cologne, scented deoderant, and or other non natural smells picked up by contact with others.

I usually bathe with HS products and wash my clothes in the scent free uv blocker stuff.

In warm weather you are not going to prevent your smell.

I like to believe in cold weather with multiple layers, you can prevent much of it but not all of it. I still hunt the wind.

I also like the fresh earth cover scent.

What I dont understand is that back in the day my dad and uncles used to slaughter deer in their work clothes. When did the deer wise up?

I actually prefer mud to grease paint for my face during bow season as long as it isnt too hot that I will sweat it off. It is much easier to wash off and it doesnt smell funny.

I use scent free deodorant and detergent. You can definitely eliminate the artificial odor of deodorant and scented detergent. And if I can smell it, I know a deer can.

I also use cover scents. Not sure if they work, but they make me hunt harder. I still play the wind though.

There are places in Louisiana that are better for hunting deer than anywhere in the country. Look up the threads on the bucks killed in Madison and Tensas parishes.

i think some of the shite about scent is kind of ridiculous

a buddy and me went out to a stand after drinking and eating all day

we didnt really think we were going to see anything since we were kinda drunk and being loud

we take a piss out of the stand and not 30 minutes later 4 big does walk right UNDER the stand OVER where we pissed and proceeded to head to the field

my piss must smell like deer scent

Numerous stories have been told at my camp about hunting from the old station wagon. Just roll the window down and take a shot. Did I forget to mention it was running so the heater would work?
