Year before last mine was loaded (several hundred). Last year I got a total of 12, but this year the limbs are hanging to the ground they're so full.
Been watering it a lot the last couple of weeks.

For the first three years after planting a satsuma tree you should cut all fruit off when they are marble size. You want all the effort of the tree devoted to growing branches and roots.

I bought a house about 3 months ago and there is a satsuma tree in the backyard. It has quite a bit of fruit on it but it is all super green. Around how much longer will it be green before ripening?

You in New Orleans, around Nov.

May want to check how much other people use, I had this problem with my cherry trees. I cut back and finally getting fruit. I grew the tree a lot a few years though.

I know this is suggested, but most people don't want to wait 3 1/2 years for fruit. I've always let nature take its course dropping any fruit the plant can't support and I don't remove any. My citrus trees are as healthy as any.

Should this be done with all citrus? Just planted some variety of orange early in spring, and it has 8 to 10 pool ball size oranges on it. Then haf a few new blossoms a couple of weeks ago.

Mine has very few fruit on it this year, but it tripled in size. I've always heard it's every other year as well.

I have a 3 year old satsuma tree... Not 1 Satsuma on my tree this year. Removed all marble sized fruit last year for growth but didn't think I would have none this year... Bummer. Its growing big (6 ft.) and looks healthy though..Guess I gotta wait another year, huh? Any of ya'll cut off fruit 1 year and get none the next?

I have a big tree that just blooms every other year. Last year I got over 300, and on off years I get less than 20.
Thought it died in the winter, but all the leaves are back on now and I trimmed it. It didn't make one fruit, but next year it will be on again.

ETA: didn't realize this was an old thread I had already commented in.
