Same here. I'm just tied up today. I have some pretty serious school crap to deal with and I'm waiting for the dept head to get to school. Apparently he hasn't even woken up yet.

I'm pretty sure that if I lance it I should give her some anitbiotics.

I was planning on giving her some LA 200 or something. Got cow drugs all over this damn house.

Grandmaws cat got bit by a snake one time. Her neck swelled up like that and it eventually busted. We would have taken it to the vet but she wouldnt come near people until it went away on its own. The cat lived under the house and would run like hell if you came near her. You would see her from a distance and when it did pop it looked horrible. We just left food out for her and she eventually became the same inside cat she used to be.

I know. Just can't make myself stab her in the neck. I think I'd rather just shoot her.

At least the vet I go to likes hunting dogs alot and never tries to screw me into crap I don't need.

Who would of thought this thread would make 11 pages...before a trip to the vet

hope things go well, after reading what was posted about the salivary cyst, I feel that is the most likely diagnosis, please keep us posted

Yea. He loves it when I go because I always have some kind of cool hunting dog. Can't put a price on that IMO.

I can't believe I'm going to pay somebody money to do this. I just can't make myself stick a needle in that thing. I'll puke.

Can't do it man. I've lanced a few on cows and stuff, and they smelled like week old dead skunks.

And they were nowhere near this big. And they weren't on any necks.

Can't do it man.

Get you something like this and a 60cc syringe. It cuts down on the smell.

I'd need a gallon syringe to hold all this shite

I've never tried to draw the shite out with a syringe. I'll try it next time I have to poke a cow.

I've always assumed the shite was too thick to draw through a needle.

It may be in cows. In people, they can vocalize their complaints and you usually get to it sooner than a cow I would assume. If it's a fluid cyst or a seroma it will be thin, but puss with particulates can gum up just about anything.

THats fantastic. I had a dog that was allergic to his yearly shots. Had to have two tumors removed from where the injections were given. Left large caved in spots on his back.

Wow that's a big mass. Very well could be what Biff was describing which is called a Sialocele which is a defect in salivary duct between your salivary gland and mouth. Basically a build up of saliva under skin. Can be drained but sometimes needs duct to be removed. Being as hard as you described cant rule out possibilty of a lymph node. Either abscessed or cancerous. Have also seen masses like that be chronic inflammatory growths from a penetrating foreign body but those are usually quite painful. If it can be drained get some video.
