Hey, so where did he hit it?

“They turned to go shoot another redfish, and I see the fish start taking off. So i grabbed my bow in the back of the boat and I shot him.

“It was towing the boat all around the pond like nothing,” said Saucier, 22, of Gheens, who shot the gar right behind the gills in 2-feet of water

Lighten up you sensitive bunch of bitches. I didn't find fault with anyone just asked a question.

As for the meat, to each his own but it seems you'd do better sticking a smaller fish. Kinda like bull reds. But whatever.

Damn that is a beast please tell me full body mount

Lake Boudreaux is right near our camp i have never seen any roll that would come close to that size. My cousin killed one in the 6 ft range but man that is the boone and crocket of gar fish right there. Damn thing is probably pushing 100 yrs old.

That will be one hell of a mount. Just reread the thread and saw that they kept just the head. I bet that was fun to get into the boat. Probably smelled like arse too. Could make some serious $$$ in certain parts of town with that much gar meat

That's a nice one.

Try this with some of it. Chill it and cut some 3/4 inch steaks and throw that on the pit.

They normally take some big ones off of the bridges in lake P every year but this has to be the biggest one i have seen come out of LA in a long time. They really should have bow fishing records.

Back in HS we caught many in the 80-120 pound range in White Lake. They were very good.
