Who sells these cups ?

I haven't yet broken a rod with my Ghost, but I have hit a couple of them. That cup looks like a creative solution to my occasional lack of awareness.

I posted a link above to tackle warehouse or you can order direct from Ashmore Marine and save a couple bucks.

ETA: TM vendors should make this standard equipment in their delivery. That piece of hard plastic cost maybe $2 to throw in a packet with a couple of deck screws.

The only thing different from the really good feeling ones is, you are forcing the spot lock motor to move when it doesn't want to. That detracts from the smoothness. Kinda like turning a drill chuck with your hand. They really should have come up with a way to have that connection disabled until you activate it.
. I’m confused what this means. Is it a sometimes thing or is it consistent enough to get it how you want with the tension adjustment

Does that motor have cable steering, or is it "fly-by-wire" like the Ghost ?

It's always. The adjustment is going to be subjective, but you're always going to be forcing that motor to turn since it has to be attached to the shaft.

The stopper eventually makes a mark on your carpet. I generally remember that way.

Must not be too bad if you have the tension up to a 4. I’m assuming higher is stiffer

No, it's not bad. It's just an adjustment coming from the two smoothest operating TMs I've ever used(Fortrex and MG Digital)

Yep, I generally remembered that also, until I didn’t. The broke $500 GLoomis and $150 warranty replacement made me research how I could prevent it. $40 is cheap insurance for the $$$$ laying on the deck of your boat. Just saying, it’s an easy fix for something that should be standard issue from all trolling motor manufacturers

After borrowing an Ultrex, and some use on a Force, I like it even more. If one is going to use Livescope on the shaft, this is by far the best choice.

It's now on my bigger boats and does just fine at only 24 volts. Lithiums go in this weekend.
