That was a bit before my time (born in da Parish in '66), but even LP's Wikipedia page is quite a read.
My early childhood was in Meraux, when Judge Perez Drive ended there, then Chalmette from age 6-18. It was a nice place to grow up in the '70s.

Not from experience but my moms family is from Zwolle. She forbids me from going down there to this day. And I grew up in cedar grove in shreveport during the riots. She called it Safe.

They are there, just have to know what hole to look in. Go to the fishing shack this evening.

Grant is pretty backwoods.

I used to be the Judicial Administrator there. My maternal grandmother is from Bentley/Dry Prong and I live just under 1 mile from the line (but clearly, legally, well within the safe confines of civilized Rapides Parish.)

A lot of the small towns around here have that "outlaw" and "go back where you came from" feel.

Heck, Pitkin is practically Manhattan compared to Singer. Just kind of a clear spot on the highway.

The most backwoods parish I have spent much time in is definitely Webster parish. Hell, the whole damn parish all goes to the same schools now instead of each town having their own schools!

You have no idea what you're talking about.

Pea ridge in north Lincoln parish gets my vote

I worked with a few pearidge boys in college. You defiently wanted them in the bar with you and they didn't believe in hunting licenses or limits.

I'd say west Carrol parish! Only parish that has its own deer hunting regs...

Concordia Parish- Monterey is one of the most backwards places I have been to in LA.

Seconded. One side of my family is from Monterey. Un-fricking-believable.
