Unbelievable how FFS has ruined the game at this level. The crutch is legit. I love the new format. The scopers only will ne revealed as mediocre.

At the professional level i think it’s dumbed the ability to catch fish way down. I’ll not get in an argument with anyone who thinks this is fishing. To each his own ,I’ve fished at every amateur level for 40+ years. My old self fully believes that on the water instincts and breaking down a fishery ability gleamed from years of experience is a much greater trait than chasing dots. Kudos to MLF for recognizing this .I’ll never view it differently. I’ll look forward to watching all the NPFL coverage this year. Like I said to each his own I’m retired now and quit trying to change peoples minds on anything. lol. Good luck fishing.
Edit. I will say I have benefited greatly from the technology. I have a place at TB and I love the fact that many of my best stretches don’t get hammered anymore. The bulk of fisherman out those days are over my shoulder. ??

Fair question. I’m not sure what I’d call it. It’s basically playing a video game while outdoors in a boat staring at a screen. I’ve always been a big Mark Davis fan. He’s an old school guy who fished painfully slow and thorough. I like him give credit to the guys who’ve mastered it. But it ain’t for me.

I'll say this.
Before livescopin' was a thing, on slow days bass fishing I used to back way off and blindly throw something out in the middle. It was a neat little trick an uncle showed me a long time ago. I could usually surprise someone I was fishing with by catching one or two if I hung with it for an extended period of time.
You could see fish on downscan, but they'd usually move by the time you swung around.
Now that I have a livescope, I can see fish that I knew should be there. Now I can catch bass at a more frequent pace by using it. And that's fun to me.
Not to mention the crushing white perch aspect of it. Which is also nice.
ETA: As to the tournaments, I'm fine with them removing it so more actual skill is on display as a scope is clearly an advantage.

Because he says it’s like playing a video game. That is the comment of someone that is ignorant. I would bet he has never used FFS much less used it to catch a fish.
