Anyone know of any public boat ramps on the Mississippi river within a reasonable distance of Donaldsonville, LA? I've read of one online in Donaldsonville but by the looks of Google Earth, it doesn't appear to be there anymore.

Google these exact words - "LOSCO launch locator".
Louisiana Oil Spill Coordinator Office.
That site is awesome for finding any launched in the state.

We've launched at the one behind the water treatment plant, across from the little park on the river road. In recent years though, they've been funny about going behind the levee and I'd have to get back with you on that. Last I recall (2010 or so) there was still a fonky arse cement launch, but they spruced up the top of the levee with benches and lighting. That's the only launch I've ever been aware of.

It's still there, just depends on the river stage.

If you go back to 2010 on google earth, it's much more well defined. Almost like its silted in or something. I'm gonna go scope that one out later this week though, thanks.

From LOSCO site:

La 18, 1.8 miles east of Donaldsonville across levee in batture at levee marker 180.

La 18 about 2.0 miles east of Donaldsonville across levee in batture.

La 75 (River Road) about 4.7 miles north of junction with La 22.

There are photos of each launch on the website also

Can you provide a link to this? I have been searching the LOSCO site but am having trouble finding this info.

ETA: I found the info on LOSCO and already found a place to drop the boat in, thanks for that!

It's a private ramp at mile post 175, but the company who owns it is one we do business with and they gave me permission.

Either search by Parish or Body of Water.

If that's Weber, it's good to have business relationships. (Can't blame them, but they charge a pretty handsome fee to most folks. )
