As soon as they said he dove into 'that' lake, I knew what happened.

I don't think so, to answer your question.

They just found him...

quote:

According to other passengers in the 24-foot ski boat, Russell jumped from the boat while they were traveling across Lake Maurepas. The passengers said they never saw Russell resurface and called 911 shortly thereafter.

Russell was reported to go into the water in between where the Amite and Blind Rivers feed into Lake Maurepas. According to the operator of the boat, they were returning from the Blind River to return to where they launched on the Tickfaw River to go home.

Sad story. I know that I've done some questionable things on that river. It's easy to forget how dangerous being on the water can be.

Bad stuff happens to experienced boaters all the time, inexperience and lots alcohol is a recipe for serious accidents and death. ..

One of my old neighbor's was riding in a boat down here. They passed under a bridge and someone in the boat grabbed the bridge and held on after the boat passed their legs dropped and hit the prop. If memory serves they didn't make it...

Better question is why the hell didnt his buddies go look for him?

My old roommate fell out of a lake skiff in the middle of the night with 4ft seas in Maurepas and we snatched him up. It was raining and it took us a few minutes to find him and a few to get him in the boat. One of the scariest things I have ever been involved in.

Happened on the Tickfaw. It was back when the bridge by Tin Lizzy was right over the water. Was a close friend of the family. Correct, did not make it.

Don't be a dick, man. You're better than that.

This was actually a good friend of mine growing up. Yes. He made a bad decision. Help others learn from it. It sucks when someone is taken way too soon

Saw this on the news this morning. Sad stuff. I've had it pounded into my head since I was a kid not to dive into water where you can't see the bottom.

this is a retarded comment, do you really think they didnt look for him. Taylor jumped out while they were hauling arse out into the lake and he never resurfaced. They turned the boat around and he wasnt there. They called 911 and help came very quick

Don't jump out of a moving boat and ALWAYS WEAR A FREAKIN' LIFE JACKET!!! That's rule Numero Uno!!!

Knocked unconscious and sunk like a rock. Proof that stupidity and drunkeness can be fatal.
