If they shut down sherburne, they will likely shut it down for everything.

The fact that the Atchafalaya is much higher this time than back in 2011, ya think the water will move differently through the Spillway when they open the morganza gates?

Just left the meeting in Morganza. Opening of Morganza spillway is forecasted to start Monday. 1 or 2 gates.

My contact at the USACE told me tonight they are concerned with more heavy rains forecast over the upper Miss Valley over the next twenty days. They were initially going to open the Morganza on Saturday but decided to delay until Monday because they were worried a lot of people hadn't been informed to get their stuff out before the area flooded with water.

The Morganza is very likely to be open until mid-Feb if the heavy rainfall forecasts pan out. If they don't then we should see the closure around the 21st of Feb best case scenario.

Airboats are running constantly in the BC testing flows and levels. The railroad is working on the railway going over lake now making provisions.

Yes Monday. The understaffed & underfunded corp has 4 days to complete there maintenance on the spillway. This shite has to change. Lock & Dam # 1 on Red River still isn't fixed also. I can not put into words how upset I am with my government.

By the way Butte LaRose get ready. It will top 2011. Without any rain period.

Wildlife & fisheries will be out without notice trying to locate hibernating black bears on private land in the spillway.

Obviously those shovel ready jobs never made it down to any of the control structures.

No neighbor they didn't. We can't maintain what is in place, much less new projects.

Man I was looking at those camps on the whiskey bay side of the basin bridge coming home today. Doesn't seem that long ago when they were all under water. Sad it's about to happen again. You say that area south of I10/butte Larose is in the crosshairs again?

And the water just starts topping the levee and filling the Morganza Spillway.
