Saturday’s forecast seems to be getting better according to Windfinder, looks to be ~2’ or less. If that holds we’re likely going out of Grand Isle.

Definitely moderated the forecast. I don’t think my GI buddy is too happy that I’m two timing on him to Venice, but he got an invite. Problem is, all our gear is down there, so Superior Tackle got more of my money. By luck, I had bright back two reels for repair and was so tired I just left them on their rods, so I was ok.

Anyone go? We launched late and headed out around 1. Ended up with 6-7 red snapper and 20-25 beeliners before the weather spooked us back in.

Went out of Venice, fished some natural bottom spots and had a 4 man limit in about an hour, culling pretty hard. Nothing huge like last week but the 20 we kept were nice.
Since the pogie boats have wiped out most of the schools we used to see, we are buying (supposedly not Louisiana pogies) and they’ve all been mush. Once from Moran’s, today from Cypress. Brown and soft. Leftovers from last year?
Seas were not bad, just the washing machine effect, no real rhythm. Thankful for the big Cat. Lots of bayboats out in the deep, and a ton of boats in general. Proceed with caution!
