Got off work at 230 and made it on the water for about 330. Water was muddy. The few goggleye and bream that I caught were pretty damn big. Had to work for them. Used a fly rod

That’s because 9 million people have sucked that place dry over the last month

there wasn't too many people out there today. I guess because of the rain. I'm making a trip to your favorite spot in the morning.

I pass the basin every day going to work so i figured I'd give it a shot

I passed by the Whiskey Bay launch yesterday around 11:30 and the parking lot was packed. Kind of surprised me with how hot it was.

I went to Henderson a few weeks back just to run my boat. Couldn’t even hardly get it on step. There were so many other boats I had to idle most of the time. I was only really able to run in the big lakes (Bigeaux and Pelba)

As always nice catch.

Went to Sorrel with my cousin on Thursday.
Fishing in the back slowed as a lot of runouts dried up.
Runouts that had flow poppers still worked.
We worked our tail off to catch a limit.

Front still not on like I would like it to be.

Think the crawfish in the stomach have been olive.
Hint what would I throw come on think about it.
They targeted this soft plastic.
I seen one go 5 ft in less than a foot of water for it.

Bass are there just alittle harder to find.

Think I owe you an apology or at least a “you were right”. I chastised you (or someone else) for complaining about the crowds in Henderson. But you were right the last few weeks. Every day has been bumper to bumper at the launch. I don’t ever remember it being this busy.

That's not a bad trip on a fly rod.

We used to launch at Whisky Bay every Sunday morning and listen to the opera on the radio while fishing north of I-10. Been a couple years since we broke that routine but we still hang at a camp up there all the time. I don’t ever remember a season with as many boats, everyday, as this summer so far.

Passed over the launch yesterday morning around 9:00 on the way to the beach and it was half way full.

You talking about the “everyone has that one friend” thread? Apology accepted.

Caught about 30 so far on fly rod this morning. They bigger than last week but not as many.

Lol I caught hell in that thread as well. I'm all about getting new folks in to hunting or fishing but I'm not a fan of dropping a pin for anybody. I'm a way better deer hunter (if does count) than I am a fisherman and I have gotten a few folks on to their first deer in the past few years. I think I get more excited than the shooter
