Not mine but a buddy of mine with a tandem trailer axle leaking grease out of the passenger side. These are supposed to be maintenance free. Anybody have experience with this happening?

I have them on my EZ Loader. No issues from mine at all. I was told that they could leak/seep a bit but excessive leakage would indicate an issue. I believe they have a lifetime warranty though.
Not lifetime, 5 year with an option to extend 5 additional yrs in the first year.

I don't have any experience with that brand.
But man, if you back any hub/bearing system in the water over and over, you're going to have problems it seems.
I just went and picked up a new spare hub today to replace the one that just got installed. My driver's side hub started throwing grease all over the backside of the wheel. Rear seal is gone. Good thing I already had my spare on hand. 15 minute fix on the side of the road.
I've said it on here many times, a spare hub and bearing assembly is as important as a spare tire on a boat trailer.

Seals go bad even on maintenance free hubs, he can pop it open, clean it out, put in a new seal and pump it back up with grease and should be good to go.

How old are they? They have a pretty good warranty.
I have them. Actually just changed out my axles after 11 years with zero issues with them. Axles were pretty badly rusted/corroded so I changed them. I bought the exact same vault hubs again.
I would not recommend just popping the cap and trying to pump them with grease like any other hub unless you are experienced with them. They use a different type of grease and it isn’t a simple operation cracking those things open to put grease in.

Unfortunately the warranty only applies to when they are installed on the vault axle. I have them with a seal blown as we speak. Will be going to Mike Gerald's tomorrow. I'll update what they do/tell me.

2017 Skeeter he bought in Houston. Contacted McClain and they are sending seals and what not to fix. He is taking it to L.C. to get fixed. Thanks for the replies, OB never disappoints on matters concerning boats, trailers, guns, trains, mommas, rain or trucks.

I had them on an ex-loader trailer from Skeeter. I had a seal start leaking. Called vault and they sent me a new seal, the hybrid grease and instructions. Pretty simple task if you rather not have to bring to a dealer.
