there used to be another site called salty Cajun that was started to provide another option where people could post and talk about fishing but the original people gave up and turned it over to some guys, who as turned out, turned it into a troll site just to harass others for fun and "as far as I know" it has now shut down from lack of funding to stay running.

WTF? No it hasn't.

One of the biggest trolls on that site was one of the founders, Jeremy Waltrip.

Something I've always wondered though...the current owner is Casey Kinchen. Members call him Chicken. He lives in Houston. Doesn't our very own Chicken live in Houston? Coincidence?

ETA: why was this old arse thread bumped?

Example of "obvious scams" cause I've never noticed any.

My buddy (who happens to post here) found an advertisement for a 20' Xpress bay boat listed at $2,000. It had pictures and everything and all of the specs were correct. He called me and told me that he was going to buy the boat and that they asked him to pay through Amazon so it would be able to be shipped. His plan was to get four $500 Amazon gift cards and send it to the "seller". Needless to say I still give him shite about that.

Years ago in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s pre website the lasportsman was a good magazine. In the rear it had good pick of people who knew how to fish areas give reports. They had it broken down in regions and a few fishing reports for regions.

Their main stories were also great.
The magazine was a basic non flashy magazine back then while it was packed with decent info.

The past few years it just seem to lose the appeal it use to have.

i enjoy skimming it every now and then. Got my boat sold on it.

if you dumb enough to try to buy a 2015 24ft ranger bay boat for 1500 thats your fault. lol.

social media and lazy hunters/fisherman killed the reports. People don't seem to attempt to fish anymore and want to know when, how, where, what bait, what color, cause "they want their kid to catch fish". Post a simple review on a good outing and before you get back the next day 10 people are in your spot. just the nature of the game

Prior to Katrina, I wouldn't head out without checking their website. I lost my boat in the storm so I stayed off the site. When I finally got another boat, I was shocked at how crappy it was.

They are but they have very little traffic. I started the most looked at thread on there. SC has the best forum layout, then TD, LASMAG sucks Donkey Balls, but I did find my boat on there and have been happy with the purchase.

TD OB definitley gets the most traffic and sells the most Ice Chest.

For Lake Pontch/Borgne and Biloxi Marsh area reports, Northshorefishingreport.com

No bashing, just honest locals telling it how it is. Lot of good local media content as well, interviews and videos. Has done nothing but grown over the years since it started in early 2013 or so maybe, late 2012??
