I always wanted to be a game warden as a kid but I can’t handle tragic accidents and/or death.

Saw a bunch or TPWD game wardens on my home lake the other day. I was wondering what so many agents were doing? You got it. They were diving to recover a body. Since I've lived on this lake at least six people have passed along. Latest was a boat, jet ski accident just the other day.

Would it be a stretch to say that most of their biologists are democrats?

Yes.

There's a mix of repubs and dems, like almost any other field. Alot of biologists became biologists because they love hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.

Out of the 2 dozen or so classmates I had in college, maybe 3 or 4 of them were liberal. The rest were good ole boys, and half of them would make you question how they ended up in college...

The natural resources agencies (well, the ones that actually have to deal with the public, anyway) probably have more conservatives than any other government agencies. I used to work for NRCS--most of those guys were farmers/ranchers or came from farming families. Not what most would consider liberal by any stretch of the imagination.

My two boys are forestry majors at State and they both b!tch about how biology majors are all sorry arse hippies
There was a good article in Field & Stream years back about the growing plight of wildlife biologists not being actual hunters and fishermen and how that affected the field regarding management, public relations, etc.

Commissioners in the last have been oyster baws
The LDWF was started to protect and regulate the oyster industry. They have been and will continue to be the most powerful group in LDWF. They are the ones that got Canarveon and Davis Pond's diversion flow decreased.

The Oyster Mafia makes even the pogie industry look like childs play
