Now is a good time to try another brand. I know this board is a one trick pony when it comes to shades, but there are other brands than costa.

Which brands do you buy that have the quality of glass costa does, durability, and lifetime warranty?

Most of these threads are people being baw-hipsters talking about how much better their favorite brand is than costa. Bipsters, if you will. Maui jims don't pull tail at the hwy 3087 rouses like a pair of brines.

Costa lenses are great

Costa frames aren't so great. The rubber detaches from the frame after a while. Had a pair of "Brine" that did this and most recently a pair of "Fantail". I suspect the adhesive breaks down if you leave them in the car during the summer months

I have a pair of the Cat Cay Costas and before I had the Tuna Del Mar's. I lost the Tunas while jetskiing one day...my thing is, they're marketed for water...why dont the sumbitches float?

I got mine back today. They replaced the frames under warranty due to rubber degradation.

I've been seeing these advertised on Instagram a lot lately. Don't know anyone that has them but may be worth a shot.

In the last thread a lot of people mentioned Calcutta’s- which are $20-30 on amazon. They have some frames that look just like costa fantails. My pair of fantails has the aforementioned rubber falling off the frame issue- and been debating sending them for warranty or just trying the Calcutta’s. Can anyone speak to their quality?

Looks like I'll be making a call to Costa this afternoon. Glad to hear they took care of the issue.

I had a pair of 2-3 year old Costa Blacfins that I wore everyday, the rubber came off so I spent the $12 to send them in and got them back in about 2 weeks from the time I sent them off. Costa replaced the frames under warranty.

In the mean time I ordered a pair of Calcuttas off of Amazon. I used them to do some freshwater fishing this past Sunday and they were really nice, especially for $30. I like my Costas and will continue to wear them. I also think the Calcuttas are of a very nice quality and would probably buy another pair if I lost/damaged them.

#Metoo, I did everything online. You will have to pay shipping there, ($4-5) and the $11.95 fee that Costa charges but they should replace the frames. The $11.95 does include shipping back to you.

just an update.... went to walmart and picked up a pair of strike kings for 19 bucks and a pair of spiderwires as a back up (amber lens) for 14. under $40 bucks and I'm back in business with a backup pair.
No more expensive glasses for me for a while!
