I recently purchased a 30 acre property in St. Tammany Parish. With the overgrowth thinned, I decided to take a stroll through some of the wooded areas for the first time. I found large piles of cut pilings (not creosote), but they are all cut into anywhere from 1’ to 5’ pieces. Probably 100+ pieces.

There are also stacks of styrofoam. Mostly 4x10ft (about 1ft thick) pieces and are wrapped in wire, kinda like mattress spring wire. There are some chunks way bigger and some smaller ones too, but lots of them.

Can anyone think of something I can do with any of this? I like hobbies, but can’t think of anything to do with it. I could also just give it away, but not sure what anyone else would do with it. Or do I just have a bunch of trash on my property I need to have hauled to the dump? I’m thinking the latter, but thought I’d ask.

Are you building a shed out there?

Can use the pilings for pilings and the Styrofoam for insulation.

Just wear a long sleeve shirt.

Sounds like a party barge project if I've ever heard one

Some folks who build floating duck blinds (like those used on catahoula lake) would probably buy the styrofoam...

You may be able to do something with some of this, but I think you will end up burning most of it.

Not looking to deal with the hassle of trying to sell it, would gladly give it away. I just have a feeling I’ll end up trashing or burning like others have said. Building a partybarge might be a little more of a hobby that I’m willing to take on.

You can make some backyard Napalm with the styrofoam and use it to burn the pilings?

Get on the wind side of it with a light breeze and let the whole property burn about Valentines day. Start fresh
