See I had two first hard accounts say the same thing. I haven't fired it but I held it. My current pocket gun is my first gun I've had since I was 11. A 22. Beretta but it has no stopping power I know.

I figure I'll get it and a single stack next.

Went to Academy and bought the Calik. Though I went home without it because my background check came up delayed.
No felonies. One misdemeanor when I was 17 that was expunged. So I'm confused.

I passed a background check to do work on government buildings last year.

Odd.

SAR USA SAR9 9MM PISTOL, BLK - SAR9BL

Check this one out at Palmetto State Armory...getting great reviews and very reasonable price.

I've been reading a lot of good about Canik and for an inexpensive firearm lineup they seem to be a good quality and shoot well.

I have this Canik and love it. It’s never once jammed, trigger is smooth. Really nice to shoot. Also big enough for home defense.

Ruger LC9s is an overlooked CC 9mm. Such an improvement over the original LC9. I own that the CM9, P365 and the Shield. Can't go wrong with either.

I have a CZ Rami, their smallest 9mm. Aluminum frame, steel slide. I do not shoot it very accurately. It has an extended round mag of 14 rounds and standard mag of 9 rounds. It is thicker, more expensive, heavier and harder to find than most compact 9mms. I like it because it is a CZ.

I own the Rami as well. I didn't include it in my post above because like you said it's heavy and thick for it's size. I have the BD version with the Decocker which is really hard to find.

Two completely different guns. Canik is much larger. Round capacity is much larger as well. Kimber is a pocket-able gun. Canik isn't even close to being pocket-carried.

As someone else mentioned in this thread, the Kimber Micros are known for very heavy trigger pulls. Mine had a 9lb avg pull on 5 pull tests. I put in an aftermarket trigger from Galloway Precision and it dropped it to 4.5lbs.

The Canik is an all around great gun. It's just a much larger gun than the Kimber. I got the version with the Shield SMS red dot on it from the factory.

I plan to get both.
I don't have the canik yet.
If I don't have by Wednesday. I'll buy it somewhere else. From what I've g m read here and elsewhere this seems to happen at academy a lot.

I don't know about a Kimber but the Canik isn't small. Also, I owned two identical Canik pistols, both purchased at the same time and both had to go back to the factory twice before Canik offered a full refund.

The only positive I can take away from owning a Canik is the customer service.

I learned my lesson purchasing lesser brand pistols.

I have a Shield 2.0. It's fantastic but if you want a small, true pocket carry then get a Sig P365.

I used to get delayed all the time. For no reason. Just minor traffic offenses on my record.

It was the main reason I got my conceal carry so I wouldn't have to go thru NICS checks.
