I've hunted El Campo/Wharton/Pierce/Eagle Lake areas. Used to be great, but still good goose hunting and we'd kill a few ducks from the goose spread. I imagine anything with actual water on it would be very ducky.

Had a good teal hunt with run-n-gun earlier this year. According to their Facebook posts they’ve had a pretty good season thus far.

If you are ok with making the drive to Corpus I can make some recommendations. Lots of Pintails down there.

Pierce Ranch near El Campo, Owner's son Andrew and his wife run the operation, Great People. Consistently good ducks and historically good geese should be good for geese this year as they have planted rice for the first time in years on property.

I don’t know the name now but Bill Sherril in Wharton. Right past airport on left. Behind Pierre ranch. Best goose and duck I’ve ever experienced

Bill Sherril ran the Pierce Ranch Hunting operation for years up until about 2 years ago till the ranch owners son took it over. He is back this year doing some scouting work and deciding hunt locations

Karankawa plains is the new Bill Sherill gig. They are booked for the remainder of the season (I’ve been trying to add dates).

I’ve had one good hunt with run and gun, one ok hunt, and one bust hunt.

If you can drive a few hours check out Blake Muirhead in Rockport. Get 2 friends to go with you and it’s $300pp for cast/blast. Not a better deal on the coast. Rockport had a lot of birds the second weekend of the season. Trout fishing was great too. Blake met us at the ramp at 5:15a and we didn’t head in until we had trout limits at 4:45p. That guy loves to hunt/fish.

Man Sherrill was the best. Always had us on birds. And eating at the cowcamp lodge was legit. I stopped going because i heard this rumor of the son being an arse.

Never had an issue with the son but Ill tell you, running a hunting operation of that size will humble you real quick. (reason bill is back)

Yep, Bill is legit. Been hunting with him for probably 20 years until he pulled the plug. I haven't booked anything with Andrew until earlier this year. I went through his wife and she seems cool as shite so can't see where he would be an arse. We have a few hunts with them after Christmas.

I really don’t know how anyone could call Andrew an arse. Good guy, about my age 32. I’m going with them Friday, Dec 15.

Just hears from some Texas hunting forum. Guess I should have researched more. Let me know how your experience goes I’d love to hunt again in that area. Most waterfowl I’ve ever seen.

My groups had 5 man limit during teal season and 5 man limit during 1st split. They still have the birds. We finished in 55 minutes a week ago Tuesday and watched Teal/Pintail continue to pour in our hole while taking pictures 200 yards away.

If anything I would think folks that used Bill long-term would appreciate some of Andrews changes...he allows guides to get you much closer to the hunting location by atv.

Can you still stay at the cow camp lodge? Some great evenings sipping whiskey on the front porch watching geese. Always loved the food too
