Lets hear it OB, What are you Shooting? Hunting or Ringing Steel?

-Rifle Cartridge / Bullet Grain
-Trigger
-Stock
-Barrel Length
-Action
-Scope
-Suppressed/Brake
-Hand Load / OTC

Just like to get something going to compare setups. What has worked best for others, what doesn't work, places to find best deals, etc. for these types of setups. Yes, I frequent the PRS blog.

Have a few other rifles but these are my favorite. Haven't hunted with the Remington action yet.
My son has the same rifle.

I bought 3 rifles at walmart during covid lockdowns. They had them for $200. It was all they had. Still have a 7mm mag to do something with.

Here are a few pics on me putting together the Rem 700

Just realized that the trigger is a triggertech primary. Not special.

bbvdd,

I have the same scope on a 6.5 as well in MOAR-T and really looking forward to comparing it to the Zeiss LRP S5. Will have to report back.

Ruger,

Went back and forth between the ZCO and Zeiss, but opted to go with the Zeiss due to deal I found on a like new demo at Mile High Shooting Accessories. Feel like in the future I will get one but will be a while before that happens. Do you know of any places you can get a good deal on a used one? My understanding is they really don't offer any discounts.

Kengal,

Like the setups! What type of tri-pod is that you have? Also, noticed the hoptic quiver, did you order direct from hoptic?

Tripod is some chinese one off amazon. Its been a long time since I shot off of one and wanted to see if it would be something I would actually use before getting a good setup.

Besnfoto is the brand, supposed to hold 44lbs. Held that rifle just fine. The RRS and other purpose built tripods have thicker legs, but this one seems sufficient for light duty use.

I dont remember if I ordered direct from Hoptic or not. Its not pulling up in my email, so I mustve got it somewhere else.

Only place I know is Snipershide. Actually where I bought mine. Brand new scope, guy from Shreveport was moving to Arkansas. Got what I think is a good deal on the scope, Mount, and scope chap. My shooting buddy has a Mark5 and an ATACR. It’s noticeable. A definite step up in clarity and sharpness from my US Optics that I sold.

I’ve read some comparisons on the hide to that scope, and the S3 I think which is the slightly cheaper version (if I remember correctly). I’m very interested though as I almost got in on the preorder for the S3 at MK Machining a couple weeks ago.

Yea, the LS3 is a little cheaper and the LS5 and is suppose to have better glass. I ascribe to the buy once / cry once method so went with the LS5.

I had a nosler m48 mountain carbon 28 nosler, but wanted a left handed gun. That gun wasn’t offered in a left handed model. Ended up finding a nosler custom m48 left handed 28 nosler with the mountain carbon stock and a 26” proof research barrel instead of the 24” that came on the mountain carbon. Called nosler to make sure it was legit and they said there was only like 2 of them ever built. I believe the stock is a manners and the trigger is a timney. Leupold vx6-hd 4-24x52. I handload 143gr hammer hunters for it. Waiting on my custom dial from leupold currently
