Is there any place in Venice that consistently has live croakers? I have never had any luck with Venice Marina.

Has anyone had luck keeping those turds alive? Lawd

Also, is it better to filter in fresh water or just recirculate the current water?

Guy by the name of Leonard catches them and keeps in a tank in his yard in Boothville. Get them from him regularly. No sign or anything place is in the river road.

I've kept them alive for hours before in a 20 quart cooler. Pure oxygen will do the trick. A 20 cubic foot cylinder doesn't take up any room, I carry it in my kayak

a lot depends on how they were caught.
a bait trawl roughs them up pretty good vs a cast net

Been hard to find in that area, think they would make a difference for sure.

I run a bubbler 100% of time when croakers in live well, have auto fill on a timer that runs 1 minute every 10, will loose a few occasionally but stay alive for the most part.

Biggest thing it to keep hatch closed to keep them cool and out sun, I typically scoop a dozen or so to put in a bucket on deck to fish with preventing constant trips to live well. And for gods sake don't stick your hand in live well!

This. A bunch of sunscreen, etc just speeds up the death penalty. I always use a net and keep the air flowing. Don't usually lose too many.

Try cajun bait, they've had them every time I've been this year.

No sorry I don't. I just drive by his place and grab them and leave money. Know. Him for a long time. I'll see if I can get you a number.
