Last year a few of y'all were changing over to (or considering changing over to) lithium batteries for cranking and/or trolling motors.

Any AARS ?

Not so sure I'd go with one of those after a friends house fire.

He had an electric mower powered by a lithium battery and Ida brought a foot of water into his garage and house. He had the mower in the garage and it caught fire and destroyed his garage and much smoke damage to his house.

The fire department attributed the fire to the lithium battery being underwater and burning due to a bad reaction to being saturated.

I'd think not an ideal situation on a boat.

Every single person I have talked to that have had them love them on their boats. Would love to have a set for mine. Looks to be more and more people getting them as they are becoming slightly more affordable.

I bought some from China 4 years ago and they crapped out on me recently. But they were only 250 a piece.

This time I Went with the bass pro brand which is actually A Relion battery with a tracker sticker on it. Relion is one of the top lithium brands out there. The bass pro brand was 50 bucks cheaper, plus its in stores so you save on hazardous shipping cost.

Only down side to the tracker brand is the size. They kept it the same size as a regular battery when it does not have to be for the same AHs.

When I went to install mine, we got a couple of arcs from the wrench. One went bad. Had to go with lead acid until replacement came, then it got hot. Have not installed yet. I have zero fears of fire.

If you get some, I highly recommend looking at the style of terminals. Pic below shows the M6 terminal which is very common and a huge PITA if you have multiple items to be attached. Ionic uses 3/8" SAE Stainless Steel Studs with serrated flange nuts, which is basically what we are all used to.
