Once we had cell service, there were a plethora of YouTube videos, none over about 3 minutes in length, so I figured it was both common, and a fairly easy fix. We had tools, just zero know-how and experimenting on the bow of a pitching boat wasn’t conducive to our learning how. We will know next time (and have a jump box, which I always carry on my boat)

I'm going with 2-100ah for my 24v troll motor. This is on a 20ft xpress bay boat. Should be plenty. I don't fish tournaments or long days anymore. Main power issue is the 12v stuff. Graphs, radio, live wells, lights, bilge, motor. Currently running 2-100ah 29 group in parallel. Graphs still restart sometimes when cranking engine

I ended up getting 2 Li-Time 100aH Mini batteries for my 24V troll motor. I also got a AMPed battery monitor so I could tell how much charge there is via app.

I can do 7 fishing trips and the battery monitor says I'm at approx. 75% capacity. Now, a typical fishing trip for me is 4 hours of fishing time. I mainly bass fish so i'm pretty heavy on the troll motor.

So far, I have zero regrets. I love em.

Just got to remember to NOT charge them when it's below freezing. Since it only gets below freezing 3-4 times a year down here I figure its a non-issue.
They do make some batteries that you can charge when it's below freezing, but hey cost more.

That's pretty impressive. And exactly why i'm considering the 50 ah. My typical trip is usually 8 hours max. And I don't mind charging between trips.
Mainly want the space savings from the smaller 50 ah. But have been considering the 100ah mini too.

I have two 50AH and it’s plenty for inshore fishing. Never takes more than an hour or so to recharge back to full. No need to trickle charge when storing either

charging speed doesnt really come from the battery, your time to rechrage comes from whatever charger you are using and how much power it puts out. fully charging 2 50AH batteries in an hour is a lot of power. I think for these LiFePO batteries its recommended to lean towards charging slower than faster to increase the life of the battery. I usually try to land in the 10 hour time frame for a full charge since I typically have at least 10 hours between dock to fishing again the next day. So, for a 50AH I would have a 5A charger.

Unless you mean to say you use so little battery on your trips it only takes a 5A-10A charger an hour to bring it back to full.

It’s this. Have a Noco 10a onboard charger.

I have a Li-time 100ah battery for trolling motor... I used it three days in a row without charging... Used it all day. No problems so far. It's nice not having to lift a fifty pound battery...

Ive got an 18' Xpress. I went with Power Queen lithium batteries. I prefer them over my Ionics, they are just as good and half the price.

The bluetooth version 12.8V 100ah is around 210 each. If you get them on amazon, use the $30 code and purchase 1, then purchase the other separate so you get $60 off total instead of the $30 off both in one purchase.

I have (2) 12.8V 100ah on my 24v Ultrex, i have ran it all week fishing several hours twice a day and still at 48%

I also have a 50ah 12.8v on the livescope/black box and 126sv. I can run it hard for about 12 hours before i have to charge it.

Im impressed with them for the price you cant go wrong.

Good thread, thinking about a lithium 12.8 v 20ah as a starting battery for 22HP mower at farm and dual purposing as a troll motor/waterpump battery.

Do you guys think this is feasible, also have a NOCO 1 amp charger.

thanks for responses.

They make dual purpose starting and deep cycle batteries but I don’t have enough experience with the lithium options. To start a 22hp likely doesn’t take a lot of amps so you are probably fine.

1 amp charger is very low, I got a dual 2amp charger and it’s very slow. I’m never really in a hurry so it doesn’t matter, charging overnight or even 24 hours is never really an issue.
