Sucks my LGS went out of business but picked up a Beretta 92x RDO centurion with the Beretta xtreme-S trigger group for $720. Gun was NIB and no tax day. Pretty happy with my purchase. Going to add a Langdon trigger bar and short trigger to finish it out. Love the 92 series guns.

congrats.

the scary part about the LGS going out business is that the ATF has someone scanning and creating digital copies of all their 4473s now.

I shot the EL 92s for years, competitively. Ernie knew how to race gun the 92s.

I was on the ACE Board pistol team in Vicenza Italy in 84 that shot the 92s ... Beretta tried to give all five of us commemorative models but Nuke'm Needham made us return them.

They were adopted in late 85 but we didn't get them in Vicenza until two years after they got them at Bragg. Those were the transition Gortex and Kevlar days as well as the A2 to A3 days, Cs to MREs, etc. God I loved Ronnie.

I sold my Ernie guns to a Brother I grew up with and served with up in Spartanburg in 2015 when SIG sponsored me. Those were two Inox guns with factory pactmeyers that Ernie had slicked out for me. I don't miss them but I loved them ... included 52 Italian made pietro 15 round LEO only mags. He got a deal.

I still prefer the P226 but now shoot the P320s, no longer competitively but as an occasional instructor by word of mouth.

Always had an issue with high and teft with the M9 for some reason. 2" left and 2" high but Accokeek was paying the bills so I compensated. They're slicker than owl poop and prettier than a March pup and, since I have massive hands that was never a problem ... I just couldn't get'em to sight right for me for some reason.

Different strokes for different folks.

Hellacious pistols thouugh and flawless ... unless you get a dust or sand trash dump from above.

How old am I? I distinctively remember being in a bunker in Aviano when the phrase broke out, "you're not a SEAL until you've eaten Italian steel."

Beretta solved that problem. No more Austrian hirt and a Brig slide but it stuck anyways and was unjustifed.

That was 40 years ago. I remember in 84 when we thought the WWII guys, 40 years our senior, were old.

I jumped into St Mere Eglise for the 40th anniversary of DDay ... stood 5' in front of Ronnie, The Iron Lady, et al. We were still toting 1911s at the time and then didn't pull any parts from our Honor Guard.

Nuke'm is still alive, I spoke with him last week.

Lindsey died a couple of weeks ago.

Johnson died a week after Lindsey.

I hope to speak with Chuck Jacoby tomorrow.
