Changing out the shocks on my Z71 with Bilstein 5100s. Do I need to change the springs to be able to utilize the lifting capability of them?

What are you changing then?

The 5100 be the strut or a rear shock....

You want to replace your new struts with new struts?

Nah, that’s the whole point. You get the lift just changing the shock and not the whole strut.

The 5100 has a snap ring and 4 grooves to set the preload on your front coils and provide a little lift. You do not have to change coils. Might need to get heavier coils if you are toting a heavy bumper, winch, etc.
