We have had so much trouble with spypoint/muddy connecting, transmitting, and now even accepting payments this year that it’s ridiculous.
What are you using, what do you hate, what do you wish you had, how many did you add this year, did you find any good deals on multi cam purchases?

I just swapped from spypoint to muddy. Setup and everything was A1…for now. I recall even catching hell and even having to update a few of my spypoints right out of the box. I couldn’t pass up the deal on the muddy merge, so I’m giving them a shot. Picture quality is light years ahead of spypoint.

Heard plenty good about the tactacam, the reveal x and gen 2 to be exact.

I have 5 Stealthcams and 2 new Coverts

The app for stealthcam has been having issues the last few weeks. Hope they get it fixed soon. The cameras I have (fusion x) have been very good.
The cell plans are pretty expensive

I have 2 converts. One is working great and the other is ok. I moved it y-day and it missed an upload. I'm sure it will be ok and I may have not turned it to "ON". Just have to look at it.
The cell plan for covert is much cheaper. The Stealth App (when working) is much better than covert's.

I do like that I can get the covert camera to take a pic and send it, which is not available on the Stealth app.

The coverts are still very new. I put them both out for the 1st time this past Friday. I moved one of them y-day. So, part of my issue may just be me not used to the app.

Hello Georgia

I’m an ambassador and ranch director for WiseEye Data Cams. We are located in Denham Springs La. a family company built from the garage and up! We make a cam and it’s data is patent nationally and internationally. Our tools include the ability to see trends and patterning of species and specific deer if you so choose. We have species recognition and weather conditions data reported for each pic to help you categorize and predict your wildlife.
We have long range antennas for good signal in poor signal areas and the best to your phone images for no additional charge.

Here is the metadata we collect.

Good luck on your search!

Good looking cameras.

What’s been the feedback from the customers who have purchased you cameras?
What is the biggest problem that your customers encounter?

Use bushnell DS No Glow trail cams on feeders/mineral licks.
Use Spartan Cellular Cams for hunting.

I like both. Spartans eat my batteries when I don’t have the data on, so I don’t use them outside of hunting season.

My experience with spypoint was terrible. Tactacam has been good so far. Heard good stuff about wise eye, but is it worth the extra $$? IDK

My failure rate on Spypoint Link Micros is abysmal. They just came out with a new model called “Flex”. Anyone tried it? Or is it a piece of dog shite?

Might try a Tactacam. Think there’s an X b 2.0, an XB, and an X-Pro. Don’t know what the difference is yet.

Just got a Tactacam XPro and I’m really impressed.

I was concerned about cell signal since my place only has one bar of 4G on my phone, but the camera is getting two bars of 4G.

Tactacam is the best on the market right now. Reliability, ease of use, cost, battery life, ability to add external power, app and pic quality are better across the board.

Is WiseEye the company that has the cellular piggyback unit that attaches to any existing camera and transmits the pictures to your phone?

We use Reveal for most of our cameras. They are easiest and cheapest that work well. Only con is the base mode has a light that glows at night and there is an audible click.

Biggest thing with cellular cameras is the “hidden cost”. The data plans are the true cost of the camera if you keep it several years. The cheapest cameras usually have expensive data plans. Lithium battery prices are through the roof so solar and rechargeable batteries help a lot.

Here is an analysis I did last year. I looked at 5 year total cost of camera and data plan. First image is buying 1 camera and second is buying 3. Data plans are the hidden cost.

(1) camera cost for 5 years

(3) camera cost for 5 years

Have 2 Moultrie cameras and the camera works great, the app sucks. I brought the Tactacam Revel and so far it is great. Only thing I noticed is you better use their recommend sd card or the camera will not send all the pictures. I will probably buy the Revel pro and get rid of the Moutlries or hope the app gets better.

What’s hidden about the data plan cost? It’s pretty easy to look up.

The true hidden costs are battery consumption, replacing ones that just randomly die, and how much more gas I burned having to constantly tend to them.

We have 12 Wiseyes on our land. The ranch plan costs us around $75 monthly for all data combined. This is a bit more for data than Cuddeback charged, but we had constant issues with Cuddeback and they were a pain to deal with. A friend of mine recommended Wiseye. We made the switch after looking at picture quality and data service connection, and have been happy. I did have an issue with some of my cameras early on (leaky housing on that batch), but the folks at Wiseye addressed the issue immediately and sent me off with new replacements. Customer service wins every time. I would highly recommend Wiseye.
