My buddy smoked the bass and reds there last weekend. Limited on both.

He says this weekends tide isn't any good so he isn't going.
My question to the OB - is a bad tide enough to shut a good bite off completely?

Few of my buddies caught 3 limits of specks in under 2 hours on Tuesday and Wednesday morning. They were with a guide using live shrimp if I had to take a wild guess.

No. You just have to work a little harder. You may not limit out, but you can find them. Look for moving water and bait...

speaking in regards to bass only... tide def affects the bass bite in delacroix, they'll be more spread out without tide but can definitely still be caught

So if I cant find bass stacked up I should still be able to run around and get some trout action correct?

Ive limited out on specks and reds in Reggio with a slack tide all weekend. You just have to find water movement.

It absolutely is . Some wind may help the cause but no wind no tide in the marsh canals means play golf for me.

The tide definitely helps, but you can find fish right now without one.

Vudu Shrimp has worked well for us lately down there

Have you been getting any good deer on camera? I shot a decent little 8 last week and it was the best I've seen so far. Most of the biggest bucks I've seen there over the last few years usually don't show up until closer to Christmas.

For best results there on bass and trout, and most coastal places, water movement of some type is always best. A predicted slack tide but wind driven water movement can be good. If the wind has been howling out of the east or SE the water will be coming in and you can catch em good even in slack tide.
