deer was running through a clear cut couldn't just walk over to it. clearly stated I dont do things like that anymore, but I see no problem with it. FWIW I've fired over a hundred rounds to get a kill,when you make the decision to kill do your best to get the kill!

Do yall think it would be okay for me to shoot these 00 buck out of my 1100? It is an early 70s gun with a factory mod barrel. It was passed down to me in good condition and I dont want to screw up the barrel. I have hunted with it many many times before, but don't want to take the chance if I don't have to.
I also have this old POS Sears Mossberg with an adjustable choke on the end of the barrel that I can use. It shoots half of the time. Couldn't ever figure out what was wrong with it though, but it does shoot.....sometimes

Seriously? You fired a shotgun 11 times to kill a deer and it was in a clear cut? Was the deer crawling away?
Also, a 100 rounds to get a kill? You may want to take a trip to the range.
