Looking to add Lenco trim tabs to my 21ft frontier. I assume 12x12 is the way to go? Any thoughts on the switches with auto retraction? I can't see the benefit to this. Won't I have to lower the tabs every time I take off in shallow water? Would it raise the bow each time? Or do they return to previous position when powered up?

I installed that switch because it has an indicator of where the trim tabs are in their position. When the key is turned off the trim tabs are moved up. They do not return to previous position when powered up.

12x12 over kill for the 21 frontier. You can get away w smaller size. I wanna say I had 9x9 or smaller on my old frontier. They performed fine.

Just measured ours, we have 12x9. Work like a champ. Only thing I wish we had was the switch that tells you the level. Other than that, no issues.

Eta: this is a frontier 2104 meridian with a 150yamm

What coon said, i had the 9x12 on my frontier.

I would get the auto retract and the led indicator switch. Both are on my current boat.

Kk. Gonna order it. Looks like my swim platform is already scored where I need to cut out a spot for the top of the strut.

Yea that's made for the tab to be mounted there. Its going to handle like a different boat.

Handle like a different boat is an understatement. Still getting used to mine. Seems like the key is to make the tweaks slowly and see what she does, I was badly overdoing them when I first started. Few trips down the Flotation Canal with a bad list.

This, but I am NOT a fan of their tabs. Had nothing but trouble with them once they got a couple years old. I ended replacing them with Bennitt tabs.

Yep. Ordered that LED switch. I ordered the Lenco. Hopefully it will last a little while. More shite to break though is what worries me.

My tabs are run through a switch on the main switch panel which when turned on powers the lenco Led indicator switch shown above. They do not retract with the key, only with the switch being tuned off.

And I’ve had zero problems with my lenco tabs in 10+ years.
