They are also the ones closest to where it "originated"
It originated millions of years ago, this is only where it was discovered, a huge difference.
CWD is a misfolding/malfunction in the protein of cervids, cervids have inhabited the land for roughly 20 million years, the first case was discovered in 1967, it existed long before that.

Looks like we are sitting just outside of the no feed ban at our place in Catahoula Parish near Larto.

8 pages in and not much talk of what this really is.... already seen in in Arkansas..... It's about money and power... and those who have one have the other.... state wildlife agencies will always do what benefits the folks with money.... CWD or not.
I could point you to SOOOOO many such decisions by the AGFC here in Arkansas but the most notable one is the elk herd. Trace the money back on that one and it'll speak for itself.... AND is the likely source of our CWD issue in the state.
I'm certain Louisiana is no different. Money will win out.

You are 100% correct. That’s exactly what we were saying a few pages back. As long as there is panic and fear mongering about it. They will profit off the research of it and profit off of tickets being handed out. Its a money grab

Guess I missed that part skimming through.
Sad that the regular guy always gets stepped on in favor of the folks with the cash.

Haven't been on our depleted public very much have you. No plots or corn piles out there and we still manage to have single digit deer densities. Stupid people stay that "there's plenty deers" because they don't remember or know how good they used to be.

Yup, and zero has been done to the deer farms that spread this shite. They had a positive deer in Blackhawk. Every freaking deer in that place should have been killed immediately and that entire place shouldn't be allow to have a single deer on it for at least 6 years. That's what should happen on every deer farm if this disease it that dangerous. CWD is Scrapie, and what I described is what they do with sheep.
Now, the deer farms are breeding resistant deer to sell to the state to combat the disease they put out. Sounds like the COVID strategy. Ban deer farming!

They’re going to frick this up aren’t they?

My boss has a 1000 acre lease in Catahoula parish. They probably spend 50K per year on lease, food plot, supplemental feeding etc. He won’t let the lease go but it’s going to hurt a whole bunch of small businesses in that area.
