I wish folks would stop using this argument. Water holes…if small enough, yes

I have done this several times over the years. And during certain times of the year there will be more hitting the feed. But when they are hitting scrapes there was 5 times the deer hitting scrapes and licking branches that never hit the feed. We would also get several bucks on the scrape that never went to the feed and we had never seen before.

As a matter of fact I do it every year and they get hit a lot more than you think they do. At least where we are. It’s nothing to have 4 or 5 different bucks a day hit them.

You’re not going to make a couple of these people on here who hunt on a club in South Louisiana and think they have a PHD in deer management believe anything.
The facts are there and they still will not look at the facts. They think that baiting is the cause of everything bad with the hunting in our state, when in reality, it is the liberal, long seasons with no horn restrictions and the if it’s brown it’s down mentality.

They are also the ones closest to where it "originated"

When folks lease, they want their money’s worth.

How could it possibly “originate” and continue to spread without baiting though?

I’ll give you a hint, because baiting doesn’t matter as it relates to CWD

Nothing wrong with it where I hunt, we are blessed enough to own enough property to manage our deer how we want to.

Gun Season is entirely to long
Buck tags are to liberal, need to be cut back to 2 at a minimum.
Need antler restrictions

I’d compromise fewer buck tags for 10 doe tags for private land in area 1. Respectfully frick off on shortening season, some folks are short on time.

Why? I like it exactly like is. You don't have to shoot 4 bucks.

What’s really funny is somebody from Alabama and Louisiana making generalized assumptions about the intelligence of people with similar backgrounds in education. There are dumbasses everywhere.

And you might be laughing with mobilejosh, but I doubt he has a high opinion of people from your neck of the woods.

I don’t, but you asked what was wrong with it and that’s my opinion. To many young bucks getting shot.

You can get on tier 1 DMAP like we are, you get so many tags per acre for doe and buck.

Interesting. IF this happens, I believe there will be a lot of folks that will have to learn how to hunt deer.

On another note if corn piles spread cwd does Texas have a CWD problem

What I find interesting is that the state of Colorado is always one that is brought up and talked about as being a state that has been hit hard with CWD and it is illegal to bait and or feed in that state, hmmmmmmmm....

There were some cases with mule deer up in the panhandle and there are some mandatory testing zones. Depending on what state you travel to after hunting in Texas you can't bring any bone matter or the skull back with you. Everything has to be deboned and the antlers cut off of the head.

There have been a few captive breeding facilities that have had their entire herd killed off by the over reaching measures of the feds.
