n. They should have suspended their shite just for being suspect.

That's not how it works. You don't have to take your punishment until they hand it out. And, there's a chance that the sentence won't have anything to do with hunting. The charges are vandalism of state property valued at over $50,000. That's not a hunting violation.

I wouldn't be surprised if hunting restrictions are part of the plea agreement. But if they don't plea, and a jury finds them guilty, they may not have their hunting rights rescinded (other than being felons and not being able to carry a gun).

I agree with what you are saying, but it would not surprise me at all to see a judge there include hunting in the sentencing. No idea if that is something that could be legal error.

From FB. No idea if true, but the poster seems reliable,

Savoy's trial is set for January 11, 2016. It was also reported that a second arrest was made on October 16, that being Allen Gaspard Jr. of Marksville. He was released on $10,000 bond. His arraignment is set for January 26.

A little bird told me that jury selection and opening statements were yesterday against savoy. 4 lawyers for the state (local lawyer, DA, ADA, etc) + legal team, 6 game wardens in attendance plus a slew of other people. Its about to go down

I wasn't questioning the validity, just whether or not that bird was "little"

Keith Savoy, charged with the criminal damage of state property in the cutting of over 100 trees in the Spring Bayou Wildlife Management Area, was found guilty by a 12th Judicial District Court jury Wednesday of criminal damage of property valued at over $500.
He was charged with criminal damage of property valued at over $50,000. He will be sentenced by 12th Judicial District Judge William Bennett at a later date.
Defense attorney Mark Jeansonne said he and his client were pleased with "this fair verdict."
"District Attorney Charles Riddle and Assistant D.A. Tony Salario are difficult opponents and made us work very hard," Jeansonne said, "but we can accept this fairer verdict and move on." Jeansonne said the jury agreed with the defense position that the property damage was less than the $50,000 to $100,000 that state officials had estimated.
About 100 trees were cut down in the Spring Bayou area in December 2014, apparently to restrict access to favored hunting sites. Some of the trees destroyed reportedly included 100-year-old cypress trees.

boucherie tomorrow

Send me a map and let me know what time to be there.

Seems like 100 yr old cypress would be worth a bit more than $500.00...
