Seems to have the ducks out of position. Limits are getting tougher, taking longer. Too bad it wasn’t open when that Polar Vortex came through last week..

You sound like you need to drink some of the Flyway Federation kool aid. Go join them and you’ll fit right in.

Or maybe all of the water all over the place has something to do with it? I was in Monroe for the opener this past weekend, and that cold front dropped so much rain, the damn ducks could have sat anywhere they desired.

Then you would be griping about stale ducks this week

Don’t think I have heard many people say the season opens too late. That’s a pretty new gripe to me

Finally went this morning for the first time this season. Haven't seen that many birds in a while.

We having to go deep in timber for mallards this year.

Somewhat disappointing.

Teal getting slaughtered in rice fields earlier in week. It shut off Wed afternoon and Thursday morning - teal hauled it out of NELA.

Duck hunting in Louisiana is becoming a losing proposition.

How is killing mallards deep in timber, “ somewhat disappointing”?

Hope front tonight brings em

Shot the hell out of em on Friday opener in MS, but much fewer around today with S wind all night. Hoping for better in the AM.

The numbers are not there and the numbers have been dropping for years.

We only kill teal out of the rice fields now - just 20 years ago we would pass on teal so our limits would be mallards and pintail.

Ducks simply don’t come down this far anymore....and it is a shame.

But those blinds go for in excess of $15k a season - that won’t last.
