Two years ago while turkey hunting. I was leaving early for an appointment. He stopped me & told him i was in a hurry. He checked everything. Ahole made me late.

its been 3 or 4 years...as i was walking in from a morning of surf-fishing. The stick-on Rodrule definitely earned its keep that day.

Got checked last week while fishing with the grandson on Choctawhatchee Bay (Florida). I have been checked many times all over the state. Had one agent sneak up on us in a little boat north of Jacksonville. He came out of nowhere. All our fish were legal. Once my son and I were fishing in the winter. I'm sneaking up on my favorite trout structure and a game warden drives up on a jet ski. And one night a few years ago I am floudering in my canoe. Using a 1000 Lumen 12volt light and my trolling motor to cruise the shoreline. I hear a boat drive up and shut off about 25 yards away. I'm thinking it's a friend of mine that I know is also in the area. Next thing I know I have a flood light on me and he orders me to pole out to his boat. Only had a few flounders and all my gear was in order. In Florida, you never know when or where you will be checked.

I said every year but it is always the same warden. He does not check for anything really. He usually pulls up in his truck as I am sitting out back by my truck. He asks how things are and I ask him the same. We usually talk for a while and he asks you do have your orange right? Or he may ask, your gun is unloaded right?
I say Yep. He then says have a good day and moves on

Did not ask for licenses, which was a good thing because I did not have one on me.

Been checked at least 7 times in the last 5 years for fishing..never for hunting.
Sheriff checked us when i first got my boat because the stickers werent on.
Assholes waited until we started catching fish then rolled up on us.
I told him all I had gotten in was the Louisiana sticker, not the numbers. He asked why I didnt put that on and I told him because if i fricked up and put it in the wrong place then I couldnt get it off.

Got pulled over coming in from fishing vermillion corporation. I actually knew the game warden and he just wanted to shoot the shite. I had an open beer in my center console and he had his lt with him...lt decided to boars and do the full gear safety equipment check. Passed with no problem but my buddy I was fishing with was shittn cuz we had the livewell packed
With all the dead soldiers. Told him no worries as long as we could walk/talk. Lmao
On another note, my bro gets pulled over every time he take the boat out....and I do mean every time. Poor bastard has no luck!

On a power line in Georgia. had on the orange cap, not the vest. He just warned me to wear it. He didn't even make me get out of the stand. He just asked me to throw the license down. All in all pretty cool about it, and would have never even known I was hunging if he didn't spot the hat in the stand. Before then hunting in Pecan Island, and next to the Rock, we were never checked in 10 years...

Last time was at night behind Lumcon. Game wardens were going out looking for people trawling before the season opened but happened to come upon us fishing at anchor. Thankfully my buddy without a license didn't have a pole in his hands. They were measuring fish and i was swinging more in the boat. i wasn't going to let green jeans ruin the bite
Ended up with no tickets just told me he didn't like my LA number placement

I've been checked like 50+ times over my lifetime. I always hunted out of Venice and have been on the water a lot fishing, hunting, gator hunting, etc. I can't believe some people on here haven't been checked and hunt every year.
But I also hunt a few WMA's and around some WMA's so that may be why.

Two years ago fishing Blind River.
In the last two years I have had two come up to me while I was hunting. The first was duck hunting and they came and asked us about some other guys that were hunting and shooting at everything they saw during teal season. Didn't check us.
This past season me and my Dad were coming out of the woods and one pulled up. He asked us if we shot anything. He said he wasn't going to check us because he knew we were legal (been hunting there for 40 or so years with no problems, unlike most of the outlaws around us). He just wanted to see a dead deer.

once in the dove field on private land, we had been drinking all day. this was about 4 pm. everyone was legal, so they wardens (3 of em) were standing around when my buddy gets up and gets on his 4 wheeler to cross the field, one grabbed his hand and told him if he cranked the 4 wheeler he was getting a dui. Well buddy told him "u cant fricking write a dui on private land you dumbass!" things got dead silent and before the game warden could say anyting my buddy informed him he was "also an attorney and knew what the law was and would eat his fricken lunch in court and he hoped he tried to write him a dui on his own fricking land" he basically cussed out the young warden (prob 25), popped a top on a cold one, took a huge sip, fired up the 4 wheeler and hauled arse across the field. The warden hung his head and took off walking back to his truck as we busted out laughing.

There was a mighty fine lady checking catches at bridge side last friday. She had on a LDWF shirt on and a large knife in a sheath on her side.
